The day before yesterday, my friend and I were going home{#blank#}1{#/blank#}I found a smart phone by the pavement. After picking it up, I suggested that we {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(go) to the store near{#blank#}3{#/blank#}we found the smart phone. And we did so. There were two young women there. However, neither of them had{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(lose) their phones. But as I referred{#blank#}5{#/blank#}some names on the name list in the phone, one of them said she also had those{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(name) and that it must be the phone of one of their friends. With a second check I finally handed over the smart phone. She took the phone and said how wonderful it was that I took the time {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(find) the owner. Afterwards, I left without{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (leave) my name or address. I never considered keeping the smart phone. Instead, I immediately tried to find the owner. And I believed that was{#blank#}9{#/blank#} (exact) what I would want someone to do if I lost my phone. It couldn't have been {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (nice). Sometimes, helping others is just doing the right thing.

    This summer I travelled from noisy Beijing to Wuzhen, a beautiful village in Zhejiang Province. Unfolded before me was {#blank#}1{#/blank#} unique image of this water country—the stone bridge and the water flowing, all like fairy tales to me.

    However, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} impressed me most was not the natural scenery but the scene of a grandma bathing a little baby in a wooden basin with the door open. My friends couldn't help {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (take) pictures of them. To my surprise, the grandma smiled and waved at us. All of a sudden, my heart was filled with {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (warm).

    I shared the photo and my {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (forget) experience with my friends. They were {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(simple) moved as I was, but at the same time they reminded me of the unpleasant experiences in big cities. We feel embarrassed to see people quarreling in public because they {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (step) on accidentally by strangers.

    According to a recent survey {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (make) in November 2016: 45 percent of the residents don't know the names of their neighbors; 63 percent have never devoted {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (they) to talking to their neighbors; 67 percent think that the relationship between them and their neighbors is just so-so, or even bad.

    Wouldn't it be beautiful to say hello to our neighbors who just came back{#blank#}10{#/blank#}work and give them a smile?

Lesson 3：…the tree was planted near a church fifty years ago, but it is only in recent years that it has gained an evil {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. ... He has pointed out that the tree is {#blank#}2{#/blank#} useful source of income {#blank#}3{#/blank#} tourists have been coming from all parts of the country to see it.

Lesson 4：…As the neighbors complained {#blank#}4{#/blank#} the noise, my husband spent weeks training him to press his paw on the latch to let himself in. …Since then, he {#blank#}5{#/blank#} another bad habit…. After this he immediately lets himself in and begins barking again. Yesterday my husband {#blank#}6{#/blank#} the gate and Rex got so {#blank#}7{#/blank#} we have not seen him since.

Lesson 5：…A relation of {#blank#}8{#/blank#} is coming to see you. …The moment you leave this tent, you {#blank#}9{#/blank#} a big surprise. “Where have you been hiding?” she asked {#blank#}10{#/blank#}.

    No trip would be complete without experiencing the local food culture. Actually, China has various kinds of delicious food, including a wide variety of local snacks.

    For most of the foreigners I contacted, and myself {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (include), Peking Duck, Mongolian Hot Pot are the favourite Chinese dishes. China is a place {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the food is not only delicious, but the {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(cheap) I've ever found.

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#} my last night in Beijing before {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (return) to the States, I went to a Peking Duck restaurant that had been suggested for me to try. What a beautiful place! Splendid woodblock prints on the walls, fresh flowers in the vases,  {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(attract) silverware (银餐具) and beautiful chopsticks. I was handed {#blank#}7{#/blank#} menu and found most of the prices were especially low for the high quality of the food. The lucky came in whole or half, along with all the little decorations - a little tortilla (玉米粉圆饼) to put the sliced cluck and vegetables in, chopped onion and sauce.

    Anyway, I ordered a whole duck, thinking I'd just take the rest back to my hotel {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(eat) later if I couldn't finish it.{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(believable), in the end there was none of the whole duck {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(leave) on the plate.
