Yesterday I read a report on a charity show in a newspaper. The aim of the show was to  1money for the poor children. In the country areas, some children are out of school 2their parents can't pay for their education.

    To my surprise, many famous performers took part in the charity show, such as Andy Liu, Jay, Faye Wang, Kitty Chen and so on. The stars didn't ask for any pay. They did it for3  ! There were a lot of performances   4   singing and dancing. The audience were so excited that they 5 their hands from time to time. Of course, the show was a success.

    All the people followed the stars' example. A great number of people showed their generosity(慷慨) in    6   their money to the show. Both the ticket money and the donated money were soon sent to the poor areas and some of the poor children can get back to  7   now.

    Now many charity shows are held in our country, not only to8  education in poor areas but also to help people in trouble. As the Chinese saying goes, "All the others will come to one's rescue(援助)  9one is in trouble. ''I  10 the whole world will become better if every one of us gives charity to others.

The doctor told me that a gentleman waiting for the 4 saw me fall down．He got to my side 5 ，and told others to call 911．He stayed with me 6 the ambulance(救护车)arrived．Then he went with me to the hospital，which made him 7 his train．The doctor told me the gentleman didn't want to leave his name.

I don't know who this gentleman is． 8 if he reads this article and remembers a young lady fainting(晕倒)at the train station，I'd like 9 to know that I want to say” Thank you” to him．Whenever I meet with such a thing，I will do the same as he 10 to me．And I'll pass on the kindness to others．

The Bone in Throat

    Once upon a time, there was a lazy wolf living in a forest. Near his house was a pond. Many animals came to 1 to drink water. The wolf was always there in search of food.

    One day, he was sitting near the pond, hoping to get something 2. When suddenly he saw a dead bull, “Aha! What a luck! Now I can eat all I want.” he thought and his 3started watering.

    He began to eat the bull. A thought came into his mind, “if 4 beast comes this way, he will ask for a share. I had better eat 5.” ‘Grub! Grub! Grub!' he chewed, faster and faster. Suddenly, a piece of bone stuck in his throat. “Ohh! Errk!” cried the wolf. He tried to pull it out of his mouth. He tried to cough it out but it didn't 6 . Next, he tried to swallow (吞) it down but he failed.

    “Ooh, the bone in my throat hurts me. What 7 I do now?” thought the wolf. Soon he remembered that a crane (鹤) lived on the nearby river bank.

    The wolf went to the crane and pleased, “My dear Crane! I have got a bone stuck in my throat. I will give you a present 8 you pull it out of my throat.” The crane took pity on the wolf. He asked the wolf to look up 9 his mouth open. The crane then put its head into the wolf's mouth and pulled out the bone. “Oh! What a relief!” the wolf said. “Now where is my present?” asked the crane. “What present?” the wolf replied, pretending not remembering its promise. “You said that you would give me a present if I removed the bone from your throat,” said the crane angrily. “Hah! Isn't it a present that you put your head into my mouth and got out 10? I could have easily broken your head while your head was inside my mouth.”

    The Greens are from America. They are now 1 vacation in Beijing. This is their first visit to China. They are going to 2 in China for over two months. They want to visit some big cities, villages and famous places of 3.They want to learn some Chinese and taste some delicious Chinese food, 4.

    Mr. Green is a doctor. He will visit a famous 5 in Beijing. Mrs. Green is a school teacher. 6 teaches English in a middle school. She is going to visit some 7 and village schools. Their daughter, Jane is a middle school student. She studies 8 . She can speak a little Chinese. She would like to make some Chinese friends.

    They are going to 9 a lot of photos in China. When they come back to America, they can show them to their friends. They want Americans 10 more about China.

    Christmas was coming and ten-year-old Tracy told her father and me that she wanted a new bike. Her bike was too 1, and it needed repairing as well. As Christmas 2,  her dream for a bike seemed to disappear(消失), we thought, for she didn't say it again. We were busy3 some beautiful story books, a doll house, a holiday dress and toys. Then to our surprise, on December 24, she said she really wanted a bike more than 4.

    Now we didn't know 5 to do. It was just too late. We were busy with Christmas dinner and packing 6 presents, parents'presents, a brother's present and friends' presents till midnight. So there was 7 time to take to buy the "right bike" for our little girl. Thinking we were parents who would make their child unhappy, we felt sorry and 8 .

    Suddenly my husband had an idea. "What about making a little bike with clay (黏土) and writing a note that she could trade in (交换) the model bike for a real one?" So he spent the next five hours carefully 9 with clay to make a small bike.

10 Christmas morning, we were so excited for Tracy to open the little box with the beautiful red and white clay bike and the note. She opened and read the 11 loudly. She looked at me and said, "So, does this mean I can trade in this bike for a real 12?" Smiling, I said, "Yes!" Tracy had tears in her e yes when she replied, ‘I would 13 trade in this beautiful bike Daddy made me. I 14 keep it than get a real bike. This is the best Christmas present 15 I have ever got in my life!"
