Starting a new school term is always exciting.It is a chance {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (see) your friends again.But most exciting of all,the new term lets you take up all hobbies.In Britain it is common for students to take up new hobbies after the Christmas holidays.Promising to learn something new is a common New Year's resolution.

    Most schools offer different kinds {#blank#}2{#/blank#} hobby classes.Students  {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (usual)take  them in their free periods or after school.Some classes you have to pay for but some {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (be) free.For example,I once took a free Wednesday evening gymnastics class {#blank#}5{#/blank#} is offered by my school.But when I learnt how to play the drum,my parents had to pay for the lessons.

    The most popular extra classes at my school were piano lessons and drama lessons.Both classes offered exams students could take.Students with many hobbies sometimes felt {#blank#}6{#/blank#} stressed than those without any.But the students with hobbies left school with many extra {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (skill).

    I haven't continued any of the hobbies I {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (begin) at school.But I have never regretted taking  {#blank#}9{#/blank#} . My {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (good) friend today is someone I met in my gymnastics class.

    One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried loudly {#blank#}1{#/blank#}hours and the farmer tried to figure out {#blank#}2{#/blank#} to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(cover) up anyway; it just wasn't worth the effort to get the donkey back.

    He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel（铲）and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(cry) horribly. Then, to everyone's {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(amaze), he quieted down. A few shovel loads {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(late), the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(hit) his back, the donkey was doing something surprising. He would shake {#blank#}8{#/blank#} off and take a step up.

    As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would do the same. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over {#blank#}9{#/blank#} edge of the well and {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(happy) ran off!

    Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

    "Failing to open curtains fully makes people more likely to get sick", {#blank#}1{#/blank#} new study suggests. It found sunlight kills disease-causing bacteria {#blank#}2{#/blank#} live in dust, while darker conditions let them thrive (繁殖). The findings {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (publish) in the journal Microbiome.

    Researchers {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (warn) the problem also affects windowless offices. Study leader Dr. Ashkaan Fahimipour said: "Humans spend most of their time indoors, where dust carries bacteria {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (make) us sick.

    "Therefore, it's important {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (understand) how the buildings we live influence dust eco-systems and how this could {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (serious) affect our health."

    His team at the University of Oregon chose 11 small rooms and allowed in {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (differ) levels of sunlight. After 90 days, dark rooms had double the number of bacteria able to reproduce. Fahimipour added: "We hope that with {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (far) understanding we can design access to daylight in {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (build) schools, offices, hospitals and homes in ways that reduce the risk of dust-borne infections."
