Two businessmen{#blank#}1{#/blank#}  (fly) to Australia to play in a weekend golf match. Their team won and they both received green jackets. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}their last night in Australia, they stayed up late drinking beer. They were still drunk in the morning, {#blank#}3{#/blank#}they drove their rented car to the airport. The road was empty. Suddenly, something jumped in front of the car. The driver couldn't stop in time and the car hit it.

    The men got out of the car and found a large kangaroo{#blank#}4{#/blank#}  (lie) on the road. The drunken men began to laugh and decided to take some photos with the “dead” kangaroo. One of the men decided to put the jacket on{#blank#}5{#/blank#} kangaroo. So they dressed the poor kangaroo in a green jacket. Then they posed with it for some photos. Suddenly, something amazing happened. The kangaroo opened {#blank#}6{#/blank#} eyes. It was not dead. But it was very {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (anger). The kangaroo hit the two men and knocked them out. Then it ran {#blank#}8{#/blank#}.In the kangaroo's new green jacket were the car keys, a passport, and the air tickets.

    Later that day, a motorist phoned the police. “You're {#blank#}9{#/blank#}going to believe this,” he said, “but a kangaroo in a green golf jacket{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (run) along the road to the airport!” The police finally found out the whole story, and they punished the two drunken men.

    The earth was just {#blank#}1{#/blank#} cloud of dust after the “Big Bang”. The earth exploded {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(loud) with fire and rock. They were in time to produce carbon, nitrogen, water vapour and other gases, which were {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(make) the earth's atmosphere. As the earth cooled down, water began to appear on its surface. It allowed the earth to dissolve {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(harm) gases. Then life began to develop.

    Small plants multiplied and filled the oceans and seas with oxygen. This encouraged the {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(develop) of early shellfish and fish. Land animals such as insects, reptiles and dinosaurs {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(appear) after green plants came into being. Small clever animals spread all {#blank#}7{#/blank#} the earth. They are putting too much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} prevents heat from escaping from the earth into space. {#blank#}9{#/blank#} life will continue on the earth for millions of years to come will depend on whether this problem can {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(solve).

    I've always been attracted by the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (beautiful) of Chinese culture and its vast history. When we first arrived in China, my friend Tony and I expected a huge city {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (fill) with modern buildings, busy streets and a crowded transport system. But we were pleasantly surprised.

    The first thing {#blank#}3{#/blank#} struck us was the space. Yes, Beijing is indeed huge, but its wide streets and green spaces made every area feel less crowded. Tian'anmen Square was the perfect example of this. The Forbidden City was {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (surprise) clean and well preserved. Everywhere we looked, there were people {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (tidy) and cleaning, which really left an {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (impress) of national pride. We {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (concern) that few people would speak English, even in Beijing. But we found it common for Chinese people to know a few words of English. The most exciting part of our visit was riding around in the sunshine and exploring the city {#blank#}8{#/blank#} Ofo bikes.

    It was great {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (experience) Beijing's landmarks in person after admiring {#blank#}10{#/blank#} for so many years. This was our first visit to China, but certainly not our last.

    Robot teachers are now very popular with pupils in some primary schools in South Korea. Compared with human teachers, the robot teachers are {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (patient). They never get angry and are always kind to the students. That's {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the children can always get on well with their robot teachers.

    English-teaching robots {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (send) to three primary schools for eight weeks last December. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (equip) with a microphone and video camera, the robots teach students as teachers. Researchers found that the English-teaching robots helped raise students' interests in the language and build up their {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (confident). More and more students came to like studying and they got better grades in exams. Meanwhile, other robot teachers, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} can teach math, science and art, have also been developed.

    Many people think these robot teachers should be used {#blank#}7{#/blank#} faraway village schools so that the children there can also receive a good education. {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (give) rural school children more learning chances, the South Korean government has expressed great interest in {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (develop) these robots.
