Global warming is one of the most serious problems facing humans and greenhouse gases are the main cause of it. Greenhouse gases are produced not only by industry but also by individuals (个人). People use energy to drive cars, make homes {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(comfort) and grow and transport food. Finding{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(solve) to the problem of greenhouse gases is not only a political subject but an individual one as well.

    Look for ways {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(reduce) energy at home. Turn off electrical appliances (家用电器) that you are not using. Replace your light bulbs with energy-efficient light bulbs.

    Eat locally. A lot of energy{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(use) to transport food over long distances,{#blank#}5{#/blank#}burns much fuel. Much of the same food may be grown on local farms. Shop at your local farmers, market. Plant your own vegetable garden.

Make your house {#blank#}6{#/blank#}eco-friendly one. Put a sweater on to keep warm rather than turning the heating on. Plant a tree to provide shade in summer so you don't have to use an air conditioner.

    Reduce and recycle. Be careful {#blank#}7{#/blank#}the products you buy. Recycle all paper, plastic, glass and aluminum (铝) cans.{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (when) you go shopping, please choose items that come with small packaging and that {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(be) reusable. Use your own canvas bags for shopping instead of plastic or paper bags.

    Be energy-conscious of transportation. Walk, ride a bike {#blank#}10{#/blank#}take a bus instead of driving.

    I won't call myself the most accomplished person when it comes to {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (hold) chopsticks. In fact, I'm pretty sure that my technique looks clumsy at times. I tend to hold {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (I) in the middle, more beginner than expert.

    Still, since I eat almost every meal with the eating utensil（器皿）of choice in China it's not uncommon for a new friend or acquaintance to come to a simple {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (conclude) after observing me that my Chinese husband, Jun, must {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (show) me how to use them.

    They are wrong. I've used chopsticks ever since I was a teenager, a time when my sister and mother were both fond of Chinese cuisine and introduced me {#blank#}5{#/blank#} many new dishes, along with the {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (prefer) utensils in China. We always kept bamboo chopsticks along with our {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (knife), forks and spoons, ready for whenever we happened to have Chinese food for dinner. It was my closest family {#blank#}8{#/blank#} observed my first mistakes I made in using chopsticks.

    Plus, I lived over two years in China before Jun and I started dating and I {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (expect) to use chopsticks in almost every restaurant, stand and bar. Trust me, when you're hungry you figure out pretty fast what it takes to down（咽下）{#blank#}10{#/blank#} meal with these utensils.

    Our trip was fantastic. Every driver and every tour guide{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(be) knowledgeable, and tried to meet our interests and wishes. As Erich practiced his Chinese with them, they responded in English. The locations{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(select) by us were most interesting. Although I am not used{#blank#}3{#/blank#}sub-zero weather,{#blank#}4{#/blank#}was Harbin that I would recommend to any travel lover because it was so unique. All of the sights were unique with so much to offer. If we hadn't gone on the trip to Harbin, we would {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  (have) no chance to enjoy all the sights there then.

    The hotel accommodation was comfortable. We had one experience when the power went off in a block that contained our hotel, but{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(fortunate), the power was restored within a few hours. The restaurants were as unique as the areas{#blank#}7{#/blank#}we went and a Chinese cuisine was enjoyed by all four. Our guides made certain that our meal was ready and to our{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (tasty).

    If our son and daughter-in-law stay another year, we will discuss a repeat visit next year around the same time. As Erich and Caitlin are students at an in ternational university in Tianjin, the trip revolves around their academic schedules. We are quite pleased with the nice{#blank#}9{#/blank#} (serve) provided by the relevant people {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(show) our friends and family we have taken lots of photos and videos.

    Valentine's Day is known as a day of love and romance on February 14th every year.

    There are a few different versions of its origin and history, one of which dates back {#blank#}1{#/blank#} an ancient Roman festival, Lupercalia, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (celebrate) on February 15th. On this day, young single women would place {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (they) names in a huge container and young bachelors of the town would come and draw a name from it. The young man and the woman, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} name was picked would become partners for the {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (follow) years. Many of these couples would eventually get {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(marry). It {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (believe) that the month of February is perfect for romance.

    Valentine's Day was originally celebrated in Europe, but in recent years it is also celebrated in China, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (especial) among young people. Interestingly, China has its own Valentine's Day, Qixi Festival, on the 7th day of the 7th month of our lunar calendar. It is in memory of a day on which the legendary cow-herder and weaving-maid {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (allow) to be together, after being separated by the Milky Way for a whole year.
