Many years ago, when I worked as a volunteer at Stanford Hospital, I got to know a little girl {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Liz who was suffering from a rare and serious disease. Her only chance of recovery appeared to be a blood transfusion（输血）{#blank#}2{#/blank#} her 5-year-old brother, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} had miraculously survived the same disease and had developed the antibodies needed to fight the {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (ill).

    The doctor explained the situation to her little brother, and asked the boy if he would be willing to give his blood to his sister. I saw him hesitate for a moment before{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (take) a deep breath and saying, “Yes, I'll do it {#blank#}6{#/blank#} it can save Liz.”

    {#blank#}7{#/blank#} the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed next to his sister. {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (see) the color returning to her cheeks, he smiled. Then {#blank#}9{#/blank#} face grew pale and his smile disappeared. He looked up at the doctor and asked with a trembling voice, “Will I start to die right now?”

    Many people may think the Forbidden City, or the Palace Museum as it's also called, is{#blank#}1{#/blank#} old-fashioned museum{#blank#}2{#/blank#} in recent years, the museum has been working hard {#blank#}3{#/blank#}（promote） Chinese cultural heritage among young people.

    The museum's online store now offers special cultural and creative {#blank#}4{#/blank#}（product）. For example, in 2014, it started to make T-shirts that look like an emperor's coat. It also sold earphones that look like the necklaces {#blank#}5{#/blank#}（wear） by ancient officials.

    The museum has also launched an app called A Day of an Emperor. When using{#blank#}6{#/blank#}people are taught about a regular day in the life of an emperor of the Qing Dynasty. Last year, a documentary titled Masters in the Forbidden City {#blank#}7{#/blank#}（become） popular online. The documentary is about the people {#blank#}8{#/blank#} job is to repair the relics in the museum. Many of these workers are young, and some are even {#blank#}9{#/blank#} their 20s.

    Some other museums across the country, such as the National Museum of China{#blank#}10{#/blank#}（inspire） by the Palace Museum's efforts in the past five years and are working on similar projects of their own.

    Few people I know seem to have much desire or time{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (cook). Making Chinese dishes is seen as especially troublesome. Many westerners {#blank#}2{#/blank#} come to China cook much less than in their own countries once they realize how cheap {#blank#}3{#/blank#} can be to eat out. I still remember {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (visit) a friend who'd lived here for five years and I was shocked when I learnt she hadn't cooked once in all that time.

    While regularly eating out {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (become) common for many young people in recent years, it's not without a cost. The obvious one is money; eating out once or twice a week may be affordable but doing this most days adds up. There could be an even {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (high) cost on your health. Researchers have found that there is {#blank#}7{#/blank#} direct link between the increase in food eaten outside the home and the rise in {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (weigh) problems.

    If you are not going to suffer this problem, then I suggest that the next time you go to your mum's home {#blank#}9{#/blank#} dinner, get a few cooking tips from her. Cooking food can be fun. You might also begin to notice the {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (effect) not only on your health but in your pocket.

    Post-00s (《零零后》) is a documentary(纪录片) about growing up. It shows the real lives of children who {#blank#}1{#/blank#} born between 2000 and 2009.

    They struggle with schoolwork. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (face) with problems in relationships with others, they don't know what to do if a younger brother or sister is born into the family.

    But this five-episode series, which was aired on CCTV9 from Aug 20, is different {#blank#}3{#/blank#} other TV programs with a similar theme.

    Post-00s {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(film) over a period of 10 years, during {#blank#}5{#/blank#} time the show makers followed the growth of a group of kids from kindergarten to middle school. In other words, everything in the series is real.

    Such stories, which {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (know) as "coming-of-age" stories, have a special {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(attract). They feed our curiosity(好奇心) for seeing someone else's life. We become {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(increase) interested in the characters as if we truly knew them.

    And while we enjoy the real stories, because nothing is set in advance, we also can't help {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(feel) the cruelty(残酷) of reality. After all, there's no script(剧本) and there's no turning back—this is real life.

    As US writer Ernest Hemingway once wrote, "Any man's life, told truly, is a novel." And when it comes to Post-00s, it's also such a good documentary {#blank#}10{#/blank#} is worth watching.
