On Christmas Eve (平安夜), Simon usually has a party with his family in his house. They buy a Christmas tree and decorate(装饰)it with flowers, toys, lights and cards. After they finish, it looks very beautiful. Then they have a big Christmas dinner. There is turkey, hot drinks and much other Christmas food on the table. After dinner, they sit under the Christmas tree and sing songs happily. They all have a lot of fun.

As a country with a history of over 5,000 years, China is the home of tea. Last summer, I took a trip to Huangshan Mountain in Anhui, China with my parents. I will never 1 the Chinese tea culture there.

On a sunny afternoon, we arrived at the foot of the mountain, tired 2 excited. After a short rest, the 3 took us to a big farm and we learned about tea processing there. He told us that Sheng Nong found out 4 as a drink in old times. In the evening, we paid a visit to a tea house. We watched a tea art show and 5 the local（当地的）green tea. We saw a young woman in a beautiful Chinese dress showed us 6 a cup of tea is made with tea sets. We really enjoyed it and 7 ourselves when we were listening to the traditional folk music. We are sure that the 8 are the ones who best understand the nature of tea.

In a small village there was a postman. When he was 20 years old，he started sending all kinds of happy or sad {#blank#}1{#/blank#} to the villagers' homes 50 kilometers away day after day. Twenty years. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}by，and so many changes took place，but there were still no flowers or trees along the{#blank#}3{#/blank#}，only flying dust.

On the road without dust but full of flowers，the postman rode his {#blank#}10{#/blank#} happily. He never felt lonely or anxious any more. 

Wu Zeyin, 12, comes from Hubei, China. He {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(move) to Botswana with his family eight years ago. "I can see only a few kinds of fruit and vegetables at supermarkets here. They don't look good, but their prices are high," Wu said

Because of the desert climate (气候) in Botswana, it is {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(true) difficult for farmers there to grow fruit and vegetables. Botswana has to buy lots of fruit and vegetables from other{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(country), such as South Africa. Botswana has been working with China {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(solve) this problem. In July 2022, Botswana started {#blank#}5{#/blank#}program to grow China's water - saving rice. Knowing it, Wu wanted to help with local agriculture (当地的农业) in his way. "I dreamed {#blank#}6{#/blank#}creating an app to help local farmers," Wu said.

Wu has a good brain and he has made his dream come true by {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(develop) a new app called Farm Assistant. The app can teach farmers how to grow vegetables such as potatoes, onions, carrots and cabbages. Farmers who use the app can click ( 点 击 ) on a picture of a vegetable to see {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(it) seed (种子) price, watering needs, selling price, etc. After the farmers plant the seeds, the app can remind them {#blank#}9{#/blank#}they need to do at different times. Wu hopes his app can make the farmers' work a lot {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(easy) than before.

What a useful app and what a smart boy!

Today, as I was shopping at Woolworths, a kind worker surprised me with a beautiful bunch of flowers. It was my unexpected act of1 that let me know the power of simple words.

2 year(s) earlier, I was going through chemo treatment(化疗) and felt3 and down. My husband and children were also bearing a lot. They were busy on weekdays, 4 I always stayed at home alone. One thing I could do to help was to order things for daily use 5 online click- and- collect services. Before checking out, I would 6 notes for the person who packed(打包) our order- things like" Hope you' re having a good day!" or" Thank you for your hard work."

Fast forward to today, and I found myself 7 with one of the workers who had 8 our orders in the past. I walked up to her and said," Thank you so much for what you did! You usually did our orders. You guys are fantastic!" She stopped for a few 9 and then asked my name at once. When I told her, she said," Oh, you are the lady who wrote notes for 10 !" She told me that those little notes truly made their day bright, especially during the 11 times of the epidemic. It was surprising to hear that such12 acts of kindness could make such a big difference.

After finishing my shopping, she ran up to me with a bunch of flowers,13 me for brightening their day with my kind words. I 14 thought that my simple acts could make a world of difference in someone's day. Even15 as simple as saying" thank you" or leaving a kind note can lift someone's spirits. Three years has passed and it still makes them feel valued and thankful.
