Car pool(拼车)

    "Beep, beep," goes the car horn(喇叭).You've got dressed，but you've not had time to eat breakfast. You run out of the front door with your schoolbag, and jump into the waiting car. Inside, your Friends say "hey" as one of their parents drives you to school. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} 

    Car pools are a common way of transportation for many students in the US. You, along with many of your friends, can sit in one car.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} And your parents may take turns to drive you all to school {#blank#}3{#/blank#}  If you're late, you can eat that breakfast you don't have time for at home. If you're behind on your homework. this is your last chance to finish it before class. Some simply add to their sleep time before classes begin.

    Besides walking or cycling to class, car pools are green if you can't take the school bus. Instead of four cars taking four students to school each day, they can all squeeze (挤) into one. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} 

More importantly, car pooling teaches students valuable life lessons not taught in class. It can teach students about being on time. It can also teach them the bad influence of being late. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} 

    Life comes in a package. Thispackage includes happiness and sadness, failure and success, hope anddespair.Life is a learning process. Experiences in life teach us new lessons and makeus a better person. With each passing day we learn to deal with varioussituations.

Love plays amain role in our life. Love makes you feel wanted. Without love a person couldbecome cruel. In the early stage of our life, our parents are the ones who showus with love and care. They teach us about what is right and wrong, good andbad. But we don't always care about it. It is only after marriage and havingkids that a person understands others' feelings.

Happiness canbring people a peaceful mind. No mind is happy without peace. Sadness is thecause of the death of a loved one or the failure. But all of these things willpass away.

Failure is thepath to success. It helps us to touch the sky, teaches us to survive and showsus a specific way. Success brings in money, pride and self-respect.

Hope is whatkeeps life going. Parents always hope their children will do well. Hope makesus dream. Hope builds in patience. Life teaches us not to despair even in thedarkest hour, because after every night there is a day.

Life teaches usnot to regret over yesterday, for it has passed and is out of our control. Tomorrowis unknown, for it could either be bright or dark.So the only choice is towork hard today, so that we will enjoy a better tomorrow.

A Frenchman went to New York to take a holiday. He didn't know a word of English. When he arrived in New York, he took a bus to a hotel. 

It was a sunny day. The Frenchman went out for a walk. When he went along the street, he thought he must remember the name of the street. On the wall near the street, he saw some English words. He wrote them down in his notebook. "Now I know the name of the street," he said to himself. "It will be easy for me to get back to the hotel. "

He walked for a long time in the city. Then he felt tired and wanted to go back to his hotel. He took the notebook out of his backpack and showed the words to a young woman. The young woman read the words and looked at the Frenchman. She didn't know what he wanted. 

Then the Frenchman stopped an old man and showed him the words. The old man didn't know what the Frenchman wanted, either. 

At last, the Frenchman saw a young man. He knew some French. When the Frenchman showed him the words and asked where the street was, the young man laughed, because the words in the notebook read: One-way street(单行道). 

Today, people want to keep healthy through sports and exercise. But some of them have some wrong ideas about it. "A plate of chicken is a good meal before games because it has much energy."

In fact, the best meal before games should have carbohydrates（碳水化合物）. Food like potatoes, bread, bananas are rich in it, but chicken and meat are not.

"The best time to exercise is early in the morning."

No. Morning is a good time to exercise, but it may not be suitable for you. If an afternoon or evening is suitable for you, and you enjoy the feeling of getting healthier, you can choose any time to exercise. So there is no fixed time for you to exercise.

"If you drink water when you exercise, you'll feel tired."

The fact is that you must have some water during breaks（休息时间）when you exercise. And after exercising, you must have enough water. If you don't drink enough water, then you may feel tired.

"Exercising every day is quite important."

Wrong. Too much exercise is bad for your health. You need to give your body a day of rest.

Confucius(孔子) was one of the most important people in Chinese history. He taught people to be polite and love each other. His ideas changed people's lives. Here are some     ▲     about him. Confucius was born around 551 B. C. That was over 2,500 years ago. Some say that Confucius was born into a rich family. Others say he was born poor. One thing is clear: Confucius lived during a time of great trouble.

At that time, different groups in China were fighting. People forgot about good manners(礼仪). This made Confucius upset. He wanted people to be kind and polite to each other. He believed in the idea of" ren". That means" loying others"." People should follow the Golden Rule," he said. The Golden Rule is" to treat others as you would like to be treated". He believed that a good leader should treat his followers with care. This would help the leader set a good example.

Confucius liked music education. Confucius believed music education was useful. He thought music could make people and things different. And he believed that music could make people get on well with each other. So music made it possible for the society to develop well.
