    Are you a big fan of E.T. (Extraterrestrial) or aliens? Then you should read Extraterrestrial Civilizations (《地球以外的文明世界》) by American writer Isaac Asimov (1920-1992). In his 1979 book, Asimov looked at whether there is life beyond the Earth. He also talked about how we might be able tocommunicate with aliens someday. Asimov even told us that there are possibly about 500,000 civilizations (文明) in the galaxy (银河系). The book may be a little out of fashion since it came out in the 70s. But you'll still enjoy the good reasoning (推理) and imagination of it. Asimov was a science fiction (科幻故事) master. His most famous works talk about the relationship between robots and humankind.

    One day, a fisherman caught a golden fish.” People let me go,” the golden fish said.” I will give you whatever you want.”

    “Thank you, but I don't want anything.” the fisherman said. He put the golden fish back into the sea.But the fisherman's wife was angry.” You should ask for a bigger wooden basin!” she shouted. The fisherman went to the seaside and told the golden fish.

    “Don't worry, she has a new basin now.” the golden fish said.

    The fisherman went home. But his wife was even angrier. “I want a large house!” The fisherman went to tell the golden fish again.

    But the old woman was never satisfied. “I want to be the queen of the sea! And I want the golden fish to serve me!”

    The fisherman went to tell the golden fish. Then golden fish swan away without saying anything. Then fisherman walked back. His wife was in her cold clothes. Her old and broken wooden basin was next to her.

    Mr Smith was in trouble those days. He drove a car for Mr Black, a rich businessman. He worked hard and the shopkeeper liked him. But he couldn't work when he drank too much. And once he almost fell into the river when he drove along the bridge. Mr Black become angry and was going to send him away. He had a big family and was afraid of it and promised(许诺) he would stop drinking at once. The man told him to wait to be dealt with(处置).

    One Monday morning Mr Smith came into the office with two badly burnt(烧伤的) ears.

    "What happened to your ears?" asked Mr Black.

    "Well," said the man." I went to watch a football match yesterday while my wife was ironing(熨) clothes. She had put the iron(熨斗) near the telephone before she went to cook supper. Our team lost the game and I felt sorry for it. As soon as I went into the sitting-room, the phone rang and I answered the iron!"

    "And what happened to the other ear ?"

    "When I put the iron down on the table, the telephone rang again!"

    A 50-year-old American officer(官员)came back to his school. The teacher asked him to give a talk to the small boys and girls there. The talk was about the love of their great country. All the little ones were sitting in a large meeting-room. The old officer went up and began speaking. He said, "Boys and girls, I studied in the school forty years ago. When l was your age, we were not as happy as you are today. Think about it and answer me, why are you so happy now?"

    No sound came from the children. The old marl waited for a long time. Then a short boy in the front put up his small dirty hand. "Good boy! Please answer me, dear, "said the officer.

    With a big smile on his face, the boy stood up and said. "If you speak long enough, we won't have math and biology(生物)lessons this morning."

In 2013, she gave China's{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(one) space class. In 2021, she gave us a second space class, Wang Yaping's class is{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(interest)and exciting. After taking the class,my sister and I loved space better. Now we have{#blank#}10{#/blank#}same dream. We want to be a taikonaut like her.
