On school days, Jack can't play computer {#blank#}2{#/blank#} and has to go to bed before nine o'clock. He must take a shower before {#blank#}3{#/blank#} to bed. He 39. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} clean the house on the weekend.

Jim has to get up at six o'clock every morning. He must do his homework {#blank#}5{#/blank#} after school. He can't watch TV {#blank#}6{#/blank#} listen to music on weekdays, either. His mother is a teacher. She is {#blank#}7{#/blank#} with Jim very much.

Sally can't {#blank#}8{#/blank#} loudly (大声地) at home. She has to listen to English before going to bed. She has to play the {#blank#}9{#/blank#} on Sundays.

Mike must run in the morning. He can't eat junk food (垃圾食品). He has to help his mom do {#blank#}10{#/blank#} housework.

Vincent van Gogh was born in the Netherlands on March 30, 1853. During his 37 {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (year) lifetime, Vincent painted some of the most famous paintings of our time. 

Vincent van Gogh left school {#blank#}2{#/blank#} he was only 15 and then he went to England. There he began {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (work) as an art dealer (经销商). After seven years, Vincent became {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (happy) with his work and decided to be an art teacher at a school for boys. In the following years, Vincent went from job to job, living in different {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (city) in Europe. Finally in 1880, he went {#blank#}6{#/blank#} russels to begin studies in art. During {#blank#}7{#/blank#} next ten years, Vincent van Gogh painted 872 paintings. 

Vincent van Gogh is a world-famous {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (art) today, but not many people thought his paintings were great while he was alive. He only sold one painting during {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (he) lifetime For most of his life he was very poor, often {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (spend) his money on art supplies (用品) but not food.

Pan Yuzhen,77, comes from Taijiang County, Guizhou Province. She is an inheritor(继承人) of Miao embroidery(刺绣).

"The girls in my hometown can embroider at an early age. When I was five years old, I learned embroidery from my mother and sister. Miao embroidery skills are not easy to learn, but I have learned all embroidery methods," Pan said. At first, Pan embroidered for her own use, but as she grew older and married, her skills were put to use for her family, creating beautiful embroidered clothes.

 To treat her daughter and feed the family, Pan embarked on a journey, travelling to different cities to sell her Miao embroidery products.

 In 1999, Zhang went to Beijing to join her mother. At that time, Pan had a store in a market. Here, she met a lot of foreign friends who were attracted by her embroidery skills and encouraged her to expand her business abroad." They advised me to go to foreign countries and sell cultural and creative products. Then I went to the US to do business connected with Miao embroidery," Pan said.

 In 2016, Pan's career took a huge leap forward as she worked with a famous clothing brand(品牌) in China. With the help of the brand, Pan went to the UK to take part in different fashion shows. Now Pan is well— known. Pan hopes more young people can inherit Miao embroidery skills.

Li Hong is a 14- year- old middle school student in Maoming. She loves English, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} she often gets bad marks in her English exams(考试). She is too {#blank#}2{#/blank#} to ask questions. In order to improve her English, she works very hard.

{#blank#}3{#/blank#} of all, Li Hong gets up early and practices her pronunciation as much as possible. When she meets some problems, she often asks her English teacher and friends{#blank#}4{#/blank#} help. Second, she often spends her free time watching English films and listening to English {#blank#}5{#/blank#} . Maybe she doesn't really understand all the words and sentences, but it doesn't matter. She {#blank#}6{#/blank#} that the more English she hears, the more she' ll understand. Third, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} is very important. She tries her best to read short stories {#blank#}8{#/blank#} she sleeps every night. At last, it's also a good idea to write in English, so she keeps writing about her life in English.

As the saying(谚语) goes, {#blank#}9{#/blank#} makes perfect. Now, Li Hong can talk with her teachers and classmates {#blank#}10{#/blank#} in English. She hopes to get a good mark in the final exam.
