Not many years ago, a wealthy and rather strange old man named Johnson lived alone in a village in the south of England. He had made a lot of money in trading with foreign countries. When he was 75, he gave ￡12,000 to the village school to buy land and equipment for a children's playground.

As a result of his kindness, many people came to visit him. Among them was a newspaperman. During their talk, Johnson remarked that he was 75 and expected to live to be 100, and the newspaperman asked him how he managed to be healthy at 75. Johnson had a sense of humor. He liked whisky and drank some each day. "I have an injection (注射) in my neck each evening", he told the newspaperman, thinking of his evening glass of whisky.

The newspaperman did not understand what Johnson meant. In his newspaper he reported that Johnson was 75 and had a daily injection in his neck. Within a week, Johnson received thousands of letters from all over Britain, asking him for the secret of his daily injection.

Dublin is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Ireland. It is also the political(政治的, economic, cultural, tourism(旅游)and transportation center of Ireland. For tourists, they like taking the bus tour to go city sightseeing because it's very convenient(方便的)and relaxing. 

"Poor Grandma! I wish we could do something to cheer her up," Amy said to her brother, Mark. Grandma had fallen and broken her 1 . The doctor said she would be in bed for six weeks.

The seven- year- old boy Kevin likes cars. He reads about cars in magazines 1 he watches shows(表演) about cars on TV.

 Kevin is very sad. He wants a fast orange sports car! He tries to 5 one! He reads books about cars. He goes to the car factory(工厂) and watches the 6 make the cars.

 Finally, he starts making his car! He tells his parents about 7 . They say it's too hard.

8 two months, Kevin asks his parents to see his car. They are excited! It is beautiful ! It is 9 ! It is a big toy sports car! Kevin can sit in it and drive!

 Kevin's parents are 10 happy. Kevin's dad says,"I was sure you can do it!" Kevin smiles and drives away.

My English teacher, Elaine, is like a big sister to us, who always cares for her students. Once I {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (遭受) from menstrual cramps (痛经), but I couldn't find my water{#blank#}2{#/blank#} (瓶子). She showed up like an angel and brought it to me with hot water in it. I was {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (深深地) moved and my pain was gone. From Elaine, I also learned I should care for others as much as possible. 

I was not very good at math. Although I worked hard, I often {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (未能够；失败) to get a satisfactory (令人满意的) score. Seeing my frustration (沮丧), my math teacher Ms Gu did everything to encourage me. One day when I opened my exercise book, I was{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (惊讶的；意外的) to find that there were some words next to the mark. "Believe in yourself and keep trying!" Tears welled up (涌上) in my eyes. 

From that day on, I have {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (收到) many little notes from Ms Gu. Thanks to her love and encouragement, my math grades have improved. And I am more positive and confident now, even in the face of difficulties. 

Ms Shentu was my Chinese teacher in primary school. {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (在……期间) her free time, she would chat with students like friends. I still remember once we had a wonderful experience on a snowy day. When the class was struggling (努力) with final exam preparation, instead of pushing us to study, Ms Shentu {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (设法完成) to make some spare time from our busy schedule and let us play in the snow for a {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (全部的；整体的) lesson! Throwing snowballs and making snowmen, the students were filled with joy. Those joyful {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (回忆) will always remain vivid (生动的) in my mind.
