Cindy's teacher was Mrs. Jones. Mrs. Joneswas old. But she didn't walk slow. She walked fast. She didn't have white hair.She had black hair. She wasn't abent woman. Her back was straight. Allthe students liked Mrs. Jones. They especially liked her on Fridays. OnFridays, she brought cookies (饼干). She gave cookies to all the students. The cookies were delicious.All the students liked the cookies.

    Today was Friday. Mrs. Jones gave cookieswith animal pictures to all the students. All the students said,"Thank you. "Then they all ate the cookies. But Cindy didn't eather cookie. Mrs. Jones asked, "Why aren't you eating your cookie, Cindy?" She said, "I'm not eating my cookie because I will take it home. Iwill share it with my sister. "Mrs. Jones said," You're so sweet. Here's a cookie for your sister."

Most people think children only have some simple wishes，such as getting delicious snacks and having enough playtime. But a six﹣year﹣old girl named Peyton surprised everyone by making an unexpected decision.

Peyton's teacher，Mrs Petree，promised Peyton a reward（奖励） in a class. The reward Peyton chose was to sit with a friend at lunch. Mrs Petree thought for sure that she knew who Peyton would pick.

However，Mrs Petree was surprised by Peyton when she picked a little boy who never got picked by anyone for anything. The boy was very shy，and he was alone all the time. Peyton's decision really made his day. Since then，other children have started picking the boy as well. Now，he is a completely different child.

Mrs Petree says that Peyton's action has reminded（提醒） her why she loves teaching. People on the Internet also praise the little girl for her kindness. Peyton shows us that a simple act of kindness can change a person's life.

My name is Sally. I am a junior high school student from Guangdong. My school life is very busy but exciting. I have eight lessons a day. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} But my favourite subject is labour(劳动). I have two labour classes every week. I like labour classes because I can learn much from them.

In June 2024, some junior high school students in Guangzhou visited the Guangdong Museum. As for my school, we also go out of the classroom to learn new things. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}It is usually from 17th to 22nd in September. 

{#blank#}3{#/blank#} We can plant some trees and flowers. We clean our school. We also learn to cook. Now I can cook tomato and egg noodles. It's easy. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} And I can cook the noodles by myself when my parents are not at home.

Sometimes we also go to the farm and help farmers. 

We can pick some fruit and vegetables. We learn that the work on the farm is difficult. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}

Having labour classes makes us learn something new. I love labour classes so much.

Do you know how to throw rubbish away properly (正确地)? Take a look at the rubbish bins outside your house. They come into different colors. It is not for fun- those colors tell you how to sort(分类) the rubbish. 

Not all rubbish is the same. Usually, people should sort their rubbish into four groups: recyclable(可回收的) waste, kitchen waste, harmful waste and other waste. Sorting rubbish can help us in many ways. We can try our best to reuse some rubbish, such as paper, glass and old clothes to make new things. 

There are many different ways to sort and take care of the rubbish in the world. For example, in Japan, there are strict rules for dumping (倾倒) rubbish. One has to put the right rubbish in the right place at the right time. 

Do you know where your rubbish goes after you throw it away? Most rubbish goes to landfill(填埋). Recycled rubbish goes to recycling centers. These centers use the rubbish to make new things. Finally some rubbish goes to"waste- to- energy" factories. These factories collect the rubbish and tum it into energy. 

This morning, when Ms James was {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(等待) to cross the road, she saw a (n){#blank#}2{#/blank#}(交通事故). A boy was riding his bike and {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(听) to music on the road. While the lights were {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(变成) to red, a car suddenly {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (出现) round the corner. The car was slow, but it didn't {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(停止). The driver was talking on his {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(移动的) phone. Luckily, the car stopped just in time, but the boy {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(掉下) off his bike and  {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(使……受伤) his knee. So when you're on your bike, pay attention to the traffic, or you may have a {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (风险) of an accident!

Speak more

 On my way to work or in the supermarket,I try to describe my surroundings(环境) in my head or out loud to remind myself of vocabulary and useful phrases.

Join social groups

 Last term I joined a rock band and learned lots of new vocabulary about music. This term I will join a badminton club and a German conversation group to give myself more chances to practice speaking with people who have common interests.

Change the language settings(设置) on my mobile phone

 To encourage myself to think in German, I changed my mobile phone into German. Every time I send an e-mail, I discover new words.

Watch more films

 It's a good idea to watch familiar (熟悉的) films dubbed (配音) into German. All the voices are strange, but as I already know the story, I can follow what the characters are saying. I don't have to worry about missing anything.

Laugh at myself

I've learned from my first term that I'm very good at making mistakes. There was a time when I went shopping for a scarf and kept using the German word for"sheep". This term, instead of feeling stupid, I will laugh at my silly mistakes and try again.
