A Frenchman went to New York to take a holiday. He didn't know a word of English. When he arrived in New York, he took a bus to a hotel. 

It was a sunny day. The Frenchman went out for a walk. When he went along the street, he thought he must remember the name of the street. On the wall near the street, he saw some English words. He wrote them down in his notebook. "Now I know the name of the street," he said to himself. "It will be easy for me to get back to the hotel. "

He walked for a long time in the city. Then he felt tired and wanted to go back to his hotel. He took the notebook out of his backpack and showed the words to a young woman. The young woman read the words and looked at the Frenchman. She didn't know what he wanted. 

Then the Frenchman stopped an old man and showed him the words. The old man didn't know what the Frenchman wanted, either. 

At last, the Frenchman saw a young man. He knew some French. When the Frenchman showed him the words and asked where the street was, the young man laughed, because the words in the notebook read: One-way street(单行道). 

Are you nervous when you stand in front of the public? Are you afraid to make a speech?

Li Jun, a middle school boy felt shy when he was making a speech the other day. Before that, Li had thought it would be quite easy to speak in front of 1 classmates. 

"I was wrong. It was very different and much 2 than talking to my classmates during playtime," Li said. "I tried, but it was really difficult to speak. I felt like a mute (哑巴) and wanted to leave the classroom 3 ."

I went to a summer camp with my classmates this summer holiday.

We started our1 on the first day of the summer holiday. Early in the morning, we2 at the school gate. After saying3 to our parents, we got on the bus. It4 us two hours to go to the place. Most of us were away on a trip from our5 for the first time, so we thought of the good days at home and started to miss them. 6 when the evening party began, we were happy again.

It was still dark, cold and {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. At that time, I knew I made a mistake. I shook a little bit. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}, a car stopped and one of my {#blank#}5{#/blank#} got out of it. We greeted each other and talked about the bad weather. To my {#blank#}6{#/blank#}, he took off his coat and handed it to me. He smiled and said. "It's too cold. Put it on." Looking at the warm coat in my hands, I was touched and thanked {#blank#}7{#/blank#}. After that, he drove away. When I looked up at the sky, I noticed the sky was beautiful and {#blank#}8{#/blank#}. I {#blank#}9{#/blank#} warm inside me and I didn't shake any more.

 What things do you do well? Julian Lage plays the guitar. He plays1 than most people of his age.

 Some people say Julian is 2 a guitar whiz(奇才). When he was 13 years old, he already played with some of the top guitar 3 in the country. He performed at a number of music festivals. He even appeared in Grammy Awards Show, which gives prizes to the country's 4 musicians.

 Julian was five when his father5 him the first guitar. Just one year later he surprised people with his amazing talent. He played the guitar so well that a6 was made about him and showed in the cinema. Julian works hard and keep on7 even harder. It takes him about five to eight hours each 8 . Julian also works on his music with a guitar teacher.

 When do Julian have time for school? He doesn't go to school. 9 going to school, he is taught at home. He does his homework first in the morning so that he can 10 the rest of the day on his music. Julian is not sure what he will do when he grows up. For now he is happy just to play his guitar.
