    Charles Richard Drew {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(be) a famous African — American doctor and scientist. His work on blood banks helped save thousands of{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(life) during World War II.

    Charles Richard Drew {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(bear) in 1904 in Washington D.C. His main interest was in sports when he was young. He won many medals for {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(swim). Later, he turned to basketball and football. During college, Charles became interested in medicine. He attended Medical School at McGill University in Canada. In 1933, he received {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(he) doctor of Medicine Degree.

    As a doctor and a researcher, Charles was absorbed in research on blood transfusions（输血）. Through his experiments, he found that blood plasma（血浆）could be {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(success) used instead of whole blood. He {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(write) up the results in a published report.

    During World War II, Charles worked with the British. He helped them develop the blood bank. He organized the collection{#blank#}8{#/blank#} processing of blood plasma from different hospitals. These life-saving plasmas cured wounded people in the war. He also helped the American Red Cross develop a blood bank.

    Charles died in 1950 as {#blank#}9{#/blank#} result of a car accident. After his passing away, he received many honors. Many schools and institutions were named {#blank#}10{#/blank#} him.

    Yesterday evening I went to the supermarket. When I was about to enter I see an old lady with deformed hands calling me. At the first, I got afraid but then I decided to go ahead and find out that she wanted. She asked me about some money. She said I hadn't eaten anything since that morning. I gave her some money and she happy went to a food stand and had her food. It made me realize we go shopping without think twice then forget all about it in a few day. However, there are people don't even have money to get a meal. I hope to spreading kindness to those in need in any way possible.

Smiling

Every one smiles at each other and this nonverbal communication shows being polite in the United States. Chinese people like smiling when they are embarrassed in order to avoid embarrassment.
