The cold wind blew strongly outside. Amaya was warm in her house, thinking about an article she'd read at school. The article was about kids who helped out their communities, and she thought it would be really cool to help her own town, Harvard.

   The only problem was that she wasn't sure how to help. In the article, the kids had grown food for people who needed food, but it was winter. She couldn't start a garden. Amaya was deep in thought when her mom said it was time to go shopping.

   As they drove along the road, Amaya saw a family walking on the sidewalk(人行道), wearing only light jackets. How could they must be! That gave her an idea! She could collect winter coats, hats and gloves for people who needed them.

   She shared her idea with her mom, who thought it was great. But how would they spread the idea to get plenty of winter clothing? Amaya decided to talk to her teacher, because then she could share her idea with her classmates at least.

   Ms. Monroe agreed when Amaya talked about her idea. They decided to call the project Hats in Harvard. Then they wrote a letter explaining the project. Ms. Monroe even said she could help Amaya talk to the headmaster aboutit, so they could get the whole school to join in it. They met with the headmaster during lunch time. He was excited about the idea, and said he would make sure copies(复印件) of the letter went home with all the students.

   They collected enough winter clothing in only one week. Then they left the clothes around two parks, so families who needed clothes could get them there. Three days later, Amaya and her mom went shopping again. She saw the same family that had given her the idea for Hats in Harvard. This time, though, the family looked nice and warm in some new coats, hats and gloves. Amaya felt warm in her heart, and was very glad she could help others.

Fred is a boy of 8 years old. Today after breakfast, he 1 his home and goes to a music club with his sister Jane. And Jane helps to 2 a box. But the box falls (掉落) when Jane talks to Fred happily. The thing in 3 comes out.

Jane is 4 . She knows that it's Fred's favorite thing — a guitar, 5 she says, "I'm really sorry, Fred."

Many parents don't let their children do housework when they are young. In their opinion, little children are so young that they can't help1 housework. They think children can't do it 2 .3 I don't agree with them. 

At the age of two, our kids began to help us to do the housework. It only 4 them about 20 minutes to do the housework every day. They 5 help put away toys or clean the house.

I like getting kids to start 6 for some reasons. First, it's fun for kids to help. Two-year-olds like to work on the same thing as their parents. They 7 want to stay with their parents doing things by themselves. It's a good time 8 them to help you when you're busy. Second, it's never too early for them to learn something. Some people think having kids do housework is not robbing (剥夺) them of their9 . Instead(相反), it makes them know the happiness of working. Finally, it does help. I feel that Kate likes doing housework and she helps me a lot.

"Stay-at home" Astronaut's Dream

Deng Qingming is a Chinese astronaut. He finally entered Tiangong Space Station by Shenzhou-15 in November, 2022 after 25 years' hard work. He is working with his teammates to carry out {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (task) in space. 

The hard-working student {#blank#}2{#/blank#}was born in a poor village has become an astronaut finally. When he was young, he used every minute {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (study) in his daily life. As a hard-working student, Deng joined the PLA Air Force in June 1984 and started to train {#blank#}4{#/blank#}a pilot(飞行员) at a flight college in Hebei Province. At the age of 31, Deng {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (choose) as one of the 14 first members of the PLA Astronaut Division. Deng kept {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (train) hard for a chance to fly into space until he had kidney stones(肾结石) in 2013. It was serious for astronauts because the standard for their health is high. He had to stop training to have operations. {#blank#}7{#/blank#} he suffered from the illness, he continued working for his dream. Whatever happened to {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (he), he never gave up. 

In 2022, Deng's dream finally came true. At the time, he was 56 years old and {#blank#}9{#/blank#}last person of China's first astronauts to be sent into space. He had fought for his space dream all the time. He is a hero and so far, his story {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (influence) many Chinese people. 

{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(recent), Ding Xiaoyun' s school held a special exhibition with many"ancient artifacts"finišhed by students. She {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(make) a gold buyao, which looks {#blank#}3{#/blank#} an antler(鹿角) with a horse head. It is a type of {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(woman) headwear(头饰) from a very long time ago, during the Southern and {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(north) dynasties. People wondered {#blank#}6{#/blank#} she made it.

 She made it by {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(cut) out 10 {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(leaf), two heads, and three antlers from pieces of copper sheet(铜片) and put them together with iron wires(铁丝) and glue. The hardest part was cutting the copper sheet {#blank#}9{#/blank#} it was too thick. Instead of using scissors, she ended up using a knife. It was very hard for ancient people {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(make) these kinds of decorations.
