Firecrackers ( 爆 竹 ), known as Baozhu in Chinese have been used for centuries in many celebrations. They are a(n) part of Chinese folk culture.
Firecrackers a long period of improvement. In ancient China, firecrackers were made from bamboo. That's because the bamboo bangs (爆炸) when it is burned. In the Tang Dynasty, an inventor called Li Tian was the first to bamboo with powder (火药) to make louder bangs. This won him the name of "Chinese Father of Fireworks".
