This was a very interesting story. I 1 thousands of classes since I started school nine years ago. But one class was 2 of all.

    It happened last term just after I had got a bad result in 3 exam. I was sad and had lost my confidence. I decided 4 to a class 5 can tell me how to be successful. The speaker walked into the room. 6 he did not start talking like a teacher. Instead, he held up a twenty yuan note!

    "Who wants this?" he asked. Unsurprisingly, 7 of us in the class held up our hands. The speaker smiled. Then he put up the note on the blackboard and asked the same question. Again, we put up our hands. The speaker kept 8, but said 9 . Suddenly, he threw the note onto the floor! Then he asked the same question for  10time.

    I didn't understand the speaker. Why was he asking the same question again and again? I didn't know 11 to do. I wanted the note, so I put my hand up again. "You have all just told me how to become successful." He said to us 12 the note in his hand. "The note is worth twenty yuan. It is always worth twenty yuan, even though I throw it on the floor. You are like the note. No matter what happens to you, you still have your worth."

    Hearing those words, I 13 deeply. Suddenly, I realized I was worth a lot. I may have failed, but it doesn't mean I 14 do well in the future. If I believe in15I will be successful!

Two frogs lived in a village all their lives. They would like to go and see the big city. It was about 20 km away from their village. 

They talked about it for a long time, and at last they went to see the big city. 

It was a hot day, and they soon felt tired. They only walked a little way when one said to the other, "We must be near there. Can you see the city? " "No, " said the other frog. "But if I climb on your back, I may be able to see it. "So that small frog climbed up on the back of the big frog to see the city.

Now when the small frog put up his head, his eyes could only see what was behind, and not what was in front. So he saw the village they just left. 

"Can you see the city? " asked the big frog.

"Yes, " answered the small frog. "I can see it.    ▲    "

Then the frogs went back and said to the frogs around the village, "We saw the city, and it was just like our village. "

As 16﹣year﹣old Torriell Norwood drove through Florida，last February，the laughter and chatter from the four teenage girls inside her car quickly gave way to screams.As they came near to a crossing，sending their car sailing into the yard of a nearby home，coming to a stop only when it hit a tree.

Had the accident happened a few weeks earlier，she might not have known what to do.But just the day before，Norwood，had earned her CPR certificate by learning on her own.Kneeling on the lawn and looking down at her dying friend，Norwood knew she had precious little time to practice what she'd learned.

She started pumping Simmons's chest with her interlocked fingers and breathing into her friend's mouth in the hope of filling her lungs with the kiss of life.After quite a while，Simmons began coughing and taking quick deep breaths for air.The CPR had worked!Soon，the ambulance arrived and rushed Simmons to the hospital.And then she heard how her best friend had saved her life."I am not shocked，"She will always help any way she can."

Five years ago, my mother, gave birth to a brother for me when I was 8. I have learned a lot from getting along with him. 

After he was born, I almost became a babysitter. I had to amuse him after school. I would make faces and sing to him when he was crying. Sometimes I even carried him everywhere in our yard to refresh him while my parents were busy. What I liked to do best was to feed him when looking after him. How cute he was as he tasted his favorite food! My parents often praised me happily, " As an elder brother, you've made contributions to looking after your younger brother. "

I have got happiness from sharing. When I was young, I was the only child in my family. I could get what I wanted from my parents and get my parents' whole love. I was a "Little Emperor". 

But now, as long as I get something good, I will share it with him. I remembered the year when he was three, he was fond of Rubik's cubes(魔方). I bought one for him with my lucky money as a birthday present When he got the toy, he was so happy that he laughed, hugged me and said, "Brother, I love you!

Thanks for spending these years together, with my family. It has taught me what responsibility means, what unselfishness means and what friendship means. 

Not only should I look after myself, but also I should pay attention to my family and my friends.

My classmates and teachers are nice to me.It's nice {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (meet) them.I love my new school. 

Old wives' tales are pieces of advice that are supposed to solve common problems such as the medical ones or some problems at home. They are usually passed down through talking，and there are only a few having been written down. Some of them sound ridiculous and have no scientific meaning at all，just like jokes，while others are more reasonable，which are realized to be true. 

Often，old wives' tales take the form of warnings and are a way to prevent poor behavior in children. For example， "Eating candy before bedtime brings you bad dreams" is a common old wives' tale that was probably thought up to stop children from eating too many unhealthy snacks. Similarly， "If you've been lying，your nose will be longer" is a trick trying to get naughty children to tell the truth. 

Other old wives' tales want to give advice about how to keep away from illnesses. "If you go outside with wet hair，you'll catch a cold" is an old wives' tale that's still commonly heard today. However，colds are not caused by cold weather or wet hair. Instead，they are caused by viruses （病毒）. 

"Feed a cold，starve a fever" means that you should eat plenty of food when you have a cold，but not eat when you have a fever. This piece probably comes from the fact that people with a fever usually lose their appetite （胃口） anyway. Medical science has found that the body stops eating much when you have a fever because little food makes your immune system （免疫系统） fight bacterial infections （细菌感染），while eating a little more makes your immune system fight against viruses，like colds. 

There are hundreds of old wives' tales. Although there may be truth in a few of them，if you bear one，it's best not to take it too seriously.
