Joe Hoagland was three years old when the story began. And Fonzie is a dolphin (海豚).

When Joe was born, he had a problem with his heart and doctors had to operate (动手术) on him. The operation didn't go well and he couldn't move the left side of his body. The doctors at the hospital didn't think he could get better.

His mother Deena took him to different places for treating. Joe liked being in the water and Deena thought swimming could help him. One day, she went with Joe to a place called Dolphin Plus, where people swam with dolphins. Joe met Fonzie there and the story began.

Soon, Joe wanted to see Fonzie every day. Joe loved playing with him and feeding him. Joe always fed Fonzie with his left hand. Slowly, he got better and better. Deena saw that Joe's friendship with Fonzie helped him a lot, and she knew it was a good idea for other people, too. So, she and her family worked to open a place called Island Dolphin Care. Many people with health problems came to spend time with the dolphins. Sadly, Fonzie died when Joe was 17. Joe wrote: Fonzie was a great friend to me. We shared a lot of good times. I will always remember him.

Art class was over,but Sarah sat glued to her chair.She didn't draw anything.Sarah's teacher looked at the blank paper.

"Ah! A polar bear in a snowstorm,"she said.

"Very funny!"said Sarah."I just CAN'T draw!"

Her teacher smiled."Just draw something and see where it takes you."

Sarah grabbed a marker and gave the paper a good,strongjab(戳)."There!"

Her teacher then studied the paper carefully."Hmmm."She pushed the paper toward Sarah and said,"Now  sign(签名)it."

Sarah thought for a moment."Well,maybe I can't draw,but I CAN sign my name."

The next week,when Sarah walked into art class,she was surprised to see what was hanging above her teacher's desk.It was the little dot she had drawn-HER DOT!All framed (装裱)in gold!

"Hmmph!I can make a better dot than THAT!"She opened her never-before-used set of watercolors and set to work.

She painted and painted.

A yellow dot.

A green dot.

A red dot

A blue dot

The blue mixed with the red.She found out that she could make a purple dot.Sarah kept experimenting,creating lots of little dots in many colors.

"If I can make little dots,I can make big dots,too!"Sarah splashed her colors with a bigger brush on bigger paper to make bigger dots.

At the school art show a few weeks later,people loved Sarah's many dots.She found a little boy gazing up at her

"You are really a great artist.I wish I could draw,"he said.

"I bet you can,"said Sarah.

 "ME?No,not me.I can't draw a straight(直的)line with a ruler."

Sarah smiled.She handed the boy a blank sheet of paper."Show me."The boy's pencil shook (发抖)as he drew his line.

Sarah stared at the boy's squiggle(波浪线).And then she said…"Please,sign it."

Alice Hou, started Girls in STEM club(俱乐部) in America, tries to help more girls interested in science, technology, engineering and math. 

Do you know Girls in STEM? It's a club for girls. They can learn science here. Alice Hou, a 16-year-old girl from the US, set up(创立) the club. 

Alice loves science, and now she learns computer science at the University of North Texas. She is also good at Chinese dance, and she won the title of Miss Arlington's Outstanding Teen(阿灵顿杰出少年). "When I'm dancing on the stage, I just feel relaxed," Alice said. "But I feel worried(担心的) when I have my science lesson. There are 100 students in my class, but only 11 are girls. " To help more girls to be interested in science. Alice set up STEM. Now,a lot of girls are in the club. They often come to the club after school. In the club, they can learn science by playing interesting games. They can also talk about the school subjects with their friends. 

People in the US like this club. Now many schools have the same clubs. They want more girls to love science. 

Frank is a truck driver. Recently, he was thought to be a great man. 

Last Monday, he was driving on the road with his son and his friend. Suddenly, he saw a car hit another truck and caught fire. The accident was just in front of his truck. Without thinking, he stopped his truck, found a fire extinguisher（灭火器）and ran towards the broken car. But other car drivers still sat inside their cars. Frank began to fight the fire. His action（行为）encouraged（鼓舞）his friend. He also came and lent Frank a hand. Later, Frank's son and four other men came to help. Another five men pulled（拉）the car driver and her granddaughter（孙女）, a three-year-old girl out of the car successfully. They were all safe except that the driver's le g was hurt. 

When people talked about his brave action, Frank said, "I didn't think about too much then. I just did what other people would do in that situation. When I first got out of the truck, I wished that they wouldn't die. When I saw they were living, it was really great!"

"My father was so calm and brave. He set a good example to me. " said Frank's son. 

I have a pen friend. She is {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Australia. Her name is Alice. She can speak English and a little {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (Japan). She wants {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (learn) Chinese because she thinks it's very {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (interest).

She lives in Sydney. She likes science very much. Her dream is to be {#blank#}5{#/blank#} engineer, so she {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (study) very hard. She {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (real) likes her school life. Her teachers and classmates are all very kind. She likes sports very much, and she is good at {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (swim).
