My town is a great place to live. It's the best place to enjoy your free time. There are three movie theaters in town. They are all good, but the one nearest my house is the best. Shopping is always easy here. There are many shops and most of them are popular. They sell very fashionable clothes. The prices are also lower than those in other towns, so students love to shop here.

There are also a lot of video and music stores. They are very popular with students. I go to the music store every week to buy a new CD. The most crowded place for students to hang out （闲逛） is the park. Everyone goes there, and it's really interesting.

Sometimes there are even street performers. Some students think they're boring but I think they are the most creative people. I want to be a street performer, too.

Alex is a young boy. He likes music very much. He wants to play the piano and join the school music club. But all these things are difficult for him. Why? Because he has no hands.

Many people think it is impossible (不可能的) to play the piano with no hands. Alex is also one of them. He thinks he can't play it. But he had a big dream when he was a kid. He always wants to be a good pianist.

But Alex's parents always encourage (鼓励) him. His parents always tell him that where there is a will, there is a way. They find a nice music teacher for Alex. And they take him to music lessons every Tuesday and Thursday. At first, it's really difficult for Alex to play the piano. But now, after about two years, the boy can play it well by arms. And now he's not shy (害羞的) any more. He often plays the piano in class. He sometimes joins the piano match of his school.

I'm Cindy. I'm in Grade Nine in Yucai School. I have a white cat. His name is Simba. I get him from my grandfather. Now He is three years old.

Simba is my first(第一) cat. I don't know how to feed (喂养) him at first. I like eating vegetables and rice. I think they are good for me, so I give the same food to Simba. But he doesn't eat them at all. A good friend tells me cats love fish. Oh, she is right. Simba likes fish a lot and he eats it every day.

Simba likes playing with dogs. But he doesn't like to go out. When I go to school, he likes to sleep(睡觉) at home. He likes to play with me, too. When I do my homework, he is usually next to me. He is my best friend. I am very happy to have a cute cat. 

In some parts of the world, children don't have enough food to eat or enough money to buy clothes or shoes. Every year at Sunshine Middle School, we do something to collect money for these children. This year we will have a Market Day. 

The Market Day will fall on July 8. We are going to make the student center at our school look just like a big shopping center! People can come at any time from 9:00 a. m. to 5:00 p. m. and buy every- thing from clothes to books, cakes and flowers. 

Luckily for us, many volunteers (志愿者) will help prepare for the big event. Last year, Ms. Grant and Ms. Ali made some wonderful cakes for our charity. They will do it again this year. Bill Thomas will visit Bookworm Bookshop and Mel's Music Shop and ask them to give us things that we can sell at the event. Philip White will e- mail all the teachers and ask them to come to our event. Alice Brow n will put a message online telling the public the event is open to everyone. 

However, there is more to do, and we need your help. We want you to give us things that we can sell- books, old clothes, anything that we can sell to collect money for poor children. We also need some student volunteers to sell the things we get on Market Day. 

With your help, we will certainly have a successful Market Day!
