Ray was thought to be a strange boy. One day when he was flying his kite, he said to himself," Did anybody ever try to fly a kite at night? I think it must be very fun. As soon as it was dark, he {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(take) his kite and lantern, and went to a large field about a mile from his home. He tied the lantern to the tail of his kite. The lantern {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(make) of paper. The kite flew higher and higher. He tied the string (线)to a tree, and then he stood there, staring at his kite. It floated (飘) high up into the air. "Look! A light{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (fly) in the sky," one person said. "It can't be a light," said a man.

"Perhaps it's a big firefly (萤火虫) ,"said another,

"Maybe it's a comet (彗星),"said another man.

"How strange!" said a boy.

"Let's find out what this strange light{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (be)," the last one said. Then they went to the field.

Ray, who had gotten tired of standing, was sitting behind a tree. He{#blank#}7{#/blank#} (see) the men as they came, but they didn't see him. When they reached under the light, and saw what it was, they looked at each other and said, "There is nothing unusual {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(happen)! Su Shi, known as Su Dongpo, was a famous Chinese writer, poet and painter.

The old man showed Su Shi the book and explained, "So far, I {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (read) the book several times, but there are still some difficult words that I can't understand. I have asked many people, but none of them could understand their {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (meaning). I have heard that you are a person of rich knowledge, so I come to ask you."

Full of confidence, Su Shi took the book from the old {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (man) hand, but when he opened it, he became very {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (surprise) because there were many words he didn't know. At that moment, Su Shi realized that there were many more things that he had to learn.

Actually, the old man knew every word in this book. He just wanted to make Su Shi know the importance of {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (be) modest. Su Shi was embarrassed (尴尬的) and said, "Now I know why you came. I shouldn't have been so arrogant (自大的)."

Working hard to know all the words in the world;

Being determined to read all the books on the earth.

Hi, there!

Last term I didn't like my English class. Every class was a bad dream. The teacher spoke so 1 that I couldn't understand her most of the time. I was afraid to ask questions because my 2 was very poor. I just hid(藏) behind my 3 and never said anything.
