In 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping offered to build a Silk Road Economic Belt (经济带) and a 21st Century Maritime (海上) Silk Road, which became known as the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI, "一带一路"倡议). The BRI has brought cultures together for over ten years. As the BRI continues to bring the world together, young people from the Belt and Road countries can see how it continues to develop and have a deeper understanding of it. We did a survey of 125 Chinese students. The following survey is about BRI in the eyes of the students. The diagrams (图表) below show the results.

Hello! My name is Henry Smith. I'm 13 years old. I am a student in No.1 Middle School. I love reading and playing ball games, such as tennis and basketball. And I can play them well. They are easy and interesting for me. I have three tennis balls and two basketballs in my room. I often play them with my classmates after school.

I have a good friend. Her name is Suzy. Suzy is an English girl. We are in the same school, but we are not in the same class. She loves listening to music and watching table tennis games on TV. She has 10 table tennis balls and 6 table tennis bats! But she can't play table tennis. She thinks it is difficult.

Lessons

It doesn't matter if you're five or eighty-five, there's something for you at the Sunshine Sports Center! We offer personal training in all sports if you want it, but there are also group lessons for all sports if you prefer teamwork.

Kids and teenagers

Take advantage of our special offer for younger members. For members between five and sixteen years old, there are special lessons in water polo, swimming and diving(n.潜水). There are many classes for swimmers of all levels with a lifeguard on duty from 9:00 a.m. when the pool opens until it closes at 7:00 p.m.

If you want to visit Guangzhou, please pay attention to its weather. Guangzhou is a beautiful city in the s{#blank#}1{#/blank#} of China. Spring comes in March and April. There is much rain lasting for a long time, so the weather becomes warm and w{#blank#}2{#/blank#}. During this time, tourists should bring umbrellas with them. 

Summer lasts from May to September in Guangzhou. It is quite long and hot. Bad weather such as thunderstorms (暴风雨) and typhoons (台风) happens very often. 

Autumn is short. It lasts from October to early December. The weather is sunny and cool with little rain. Autumn is the best season of the year. This is the r{#blank#}3{#/blank#} why many tourists go to Guangzhou. 

Winter lasts from December to early March. It is a little cold, but it s{#blank#}4{#/blank#} snows. January is the coldest month of Guangzhou. Different from cities in North China, Guangzhou becomes a world of flowers in January. You can see flowers in every c{#blank#}5{#/blank#} of the city. 

Wuxi City in eastern China's Jiangsu Province is known as the 'Home of the erhu" because it is the birthplace of many erhu masters.  Looking around Wuxi，you can often hear the beautiful sound of the erhu. The erhu was called the huqin at first, a musical instrument of ethnic(种族的)groups in northern China，and it dates more than a thousand years back to the Tang Dynasty. In modern times，with the development of operas, the huqin was renamed the erhu and it slowly spread throughout China. 

The erhu plays a leading role in many Chinese folk orchestras(管弦乐队)just as the violin does in Western orchestras. They are both made up of a body，a bridge，strings(弦)and a bow(弓). 

The performer usually holds the erhu straightly on the leg,▲and pressing the strings with his fingers, while drawing the bow with his right hand. As the bow runs against the strings and touches and shakes them, beautiful music comes. 

Not limited (限制)by just two strings，a good player can give the erhu amazing emotional expressions. It can present both soft, lovely songs and sad music. Sometimes it gives a human crying voice, and sometimes a great horse-running sound. 

Today, as a folk instrument, the erhu has been used more widely by communicating with Western musical instruments. In many international concerts, the erhu can be seen playing with different Western instruments, such as the piano，violin and guitar. This performance form not only adds new possibilities to music creation，but also brings richer enjoyment to the listeners.
