The Yellow River is one of the most well-known rivers in China. It plays an important part in Chinese culture. It is important to business and farming.
The Yellow River is the second longest river in China. A lot of famous longer rivers in Asia are in China or go through China. In Asia, the longest river is the Yangtze River and it is the third longest river in the world.
The Yellow River is the second largest river in China. Appearing for the first time in the Qinghai Tibetan Plateau (青藏高原), it passes east through nine provinces and empties into the Bohai Sea. It travels a journey of 5,464 kilometers and is the fifth longest river in the world.
The Yellow River is also called "The Mother River" by the Chinese people. Because its water contains a lot of sand, the water of the river gives a color of yellow. That's how the Yellow River gets its name.
Although the Yellow River has been the start of life in China, it has also caused floods. It's said that the worst flood happened during the Qing Dynasty. This flood killed a large number of people and was one of the worst natural disaster (灾害) in Chinese history.
