Don't let your kids drag their feet (拖拖拉拉) over doing chores. Help them to make the boring chores enjoyable.

    ▲    A simple and great way to make cleaning great fun is to do some of it together. Play some beautiful music while you are doing chores. Then you won't feel bored.

Get lucky. If your kids like surprises, write chores on ice-cream and have each kid pick one. Tell them they can change their picks if each of them agrees. In this way, they will have a feeling that they're making a choice (选择).

Make it playtime. Turn "kitchen time" into a party. Let one child be a cook and another be a DJ. The cook chooses what he or she would like to help make for dinner. The DJ chooses the music he or she would like to play. Everyone can dance around the kitchen while preparing dinner or cleaning up the kitchen later.

Find more difficult chores. One of my friends was trying to get her kids to help out around the house, and someone advised her to give the kids some things like candies or toys as rewards. The plan worked like magic. However, rewards usually don't work for long because kids will be bored with doing the same chores all the time. At this time, give them some difficult chores. If they're already used to helping clean the cage of the pet, make it harder by having them clean it all by themselves. Then, ask them to clean it faster.

I'm Timo Halla. I1 with my parents in Helsinki， Finland. I'm happy every day. Now, it's December. Every Tuesday, I usually get up at 7:40. 1 often listen to the news2 music. My mum always cooks for me. After 3 , I walk to school. And it only takes me 10 4 .

My school begins at 9:00.There are 18 5 in my class. Each lesson is 45 minutes. Between lessons we have a 6 , and we can do other things with our friends. We have three7 in the morning-one Finnish lesson and two home economics lessons. The afternoon lessons begin at 12:30 and8 at2:15. Then I go to my ice hockey club.

I usually get home around 4:00. It is already9 outside. All the lights are on. I often have dinner at6: 00. Then, I read with my parents for an hour. After that, I 10 my school things for the next day. At 9:30, it's time for me to go to bed.

When you do not use your arms or legs for some time, they will become weak. When you start using then again, they slowly become strong again. Everybody knows that. Yet many people do not seem to know that memory works in the same way.

When someone says that he has a good memory, he really means that he keeps his memory in practice by using it. When someone else says that his memory is poor, he really means that he does not give it enough chance to become strong.

If a friend says that his arms and legs are weak, we know that it is his own fault(过错).But if he tells us that he has a poor memory, many of us think that his parents are to blame(负有责任) and few of us know that it is just his own fault. Have you ever found that some people can't read or write but they usually have better memories? This is because they cannot read or write but they have to remember things. They cannot write them down in a small notebook. They have to remember days, names, songs and stories, so their memory is being exercised the whole time.

So if you want to have a good memory, learn from the people: practise remembering things as much as possible.

I once worked as a volunteer at a Children's Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (I) job was to help make the kids feel happy when they were in the hospital. Sounds interesting, right? {#blank#}2{#/blank#} some people can't understand why I did it.

 Let me show you. My first reason was to help create a better future for people. Look at the children in the hospital where I worked. They {#blank#}3{#/blank#}( feel) scared and lonely facing all the difficulties because their parents had other kids to care for. So, why not try {#blank#}4{#/blank#} ( help) as many people as possible?

Also, volunteering in Africa and helping people there let me see other {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (párt) of this planet. And volunteering at the hospital opened {#blank#}6{#/blank#} window for me to touch the unknown world. I met people from all over the world, each with their own ideas, experiences, and dreams. We got to share so much with each other {#blank#}7{#/blank#} ( happy).

I really felt close {#blank#}8{#/blank#} these people. We shared amazing memories and grew together. Now I {#blank#}9{#/blank#}( stay) in my country and working with the experiences and ideas. And together we can help {#blank#}10{#/blank#} ( many) people and create a better future for everyone!
