Free time is a good chance for teenagers to have fun. What about free time with parents around? Some teenagers want free play without parents' supervision (监管) while parents and experts may think differently. 

Lin Tao, a middle school student, thinks teenagers should be free to play. "Last time I played with my parents around, I was nervous (紧张) and just couldn't enjoy myself to the fullest." Lin says. "And my friend Chen Xiaoxin has similar experiences. Once, he went out to play with his classmates. Everyone felt uncomfortable with his mother's supervision."

Wang Min, a mother of a 14-year-old boy, thinks playtime needs supervision. She explains, "People usually say I like to control my kid, but that's not true. I am just worried that he will get into trouble. Some guys may have a bad influence on him and some games like LARP may mislead him. He might even get indulged in the stories and can't get back to real life."

Mr. Ma, a doctor of social studies, says it's understandable for teenagers to wish for freedom. Free play helps them to be independent. Parents can give them more space. They don't have to supervise them all the time. However, teenagers should find out the exact details (细节) about the activities before playtime. Then they can communicate with their parents and decide together whether they can go out to play alone. 

Everyone needs friends. All of us {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (期盼) to feel close to someone. It's nice to have a friend to talk, have fun, and do so many things {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (一起). In fact, it's not easy to make friends. It is just like taking a long {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(旅行;旅程) and it takes time. Of course, sometimes we need to be alone. But we would feel sad {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(如果) we never had a friend.

No two people are the same. Sometimes friends don't get along well. That never {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(意味着) that they no longer like each other. Mostly, they will go on being friends. There is one of the worst {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(情况). Some friends move far away and we don't have time to be with each other. {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(然而), we can call them or send emails to them. Maybe we would never see them again. And we can make new friends. It's {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(惊人的) to find out how much we like new people when we get to know them.

Living Like Franklin（像本杰明 · 富兰克林那样安排作息帮助我成为了一个更高效的人）

Benjamin Franklin, a writer, printer, politician, scientist and inventor, certainly knew how to get things done quickly. I recently learned about his daily schedule. And in an effort to be more productive, I have tried to follow it.

I started by getting up at 5 every morning. However, I always found myself tired during the day. After six days, I decided to rise at 6 a.m. and spend two hours — one hour less than Franklin — planning my day. Franklin's day didn't seem to include any exercise. I'm used to exercising in the morning, so I added "workout" to those two hours. At 8 a.m., I sit down to work.

Working continuously for four hours was a challenge. I realized that I was less able to fully focus on my work after 10 a.m. Slowly, I found a fix by dealing with harder tasks, like writing, in the first half of these four hours. I use the remaining two hours for easier tasks like researching.

Taking a two-hour break at noon to eat and read seemed wasteful to me. I rarely spent more than 30 minutes eating lunch. During the first week, I kept watching the clock to find out when I could return to work. Finally, I decided not to eat and read at my desk. Now, I'm used to taking a longer lunch break, and I've seen the benefits.

At 2 p.m., I start working non-stop for another four hours. Again, the order in which I complete my tasks is based on my energy level. At 6 p.m., I force myself to call it a day. I spend the rest of the day having supper and relaxing. I go to bed at 10 p.m.

Every morning, Franklin would ask himself, "What good shall I do today?" And he would end the day by asking himself, "____?" At first, I thought this was silly. But answering those two questions daily has helped me to make the most of my day.

I've learned a lot by following Franklin's schedule. I think I'm using my time more wisely now.

The next morning, he has an idea! He puts up Lost and Found notices (启事) in his neighborhood. In {#blank#}9{#/blank#} afternoon, a girl named Anna calls Frank and tells him that it is her cat. She also says {#blank#}10{#/blank#} to him. Frank is very glad that the cat can go back home.
