As space science develops, man has learned more and more about space. Space is not only amazing but also dangerous. While working in space, spacemen are facing dangers as well as interests. 

Scientists have found out that radiation（辐射）is the greatest danger to spacemen in space. When spacemen are working in space, they are in danger of radiation from the sun and other stars, which is bad for their health. The damage（危害）done by radiation won't be discovered until their children or even grandchildren are born. Some special medicine works a little, but no really helpful medicine has been produced. 

Space junk（垃圾）is also thought a great danger to spacemen. It's reported that there are 9,000 man-made things flying in space. About 30% of these are satellites, 10% are spaceships, and the rest is space junk. Scientists are watching and reporting any possible danger all the time. They are working on helpful ways to do with space junk. 

Although space is really dangerous, it interests everyone on the earth. In the near future, it may become usual for people to spend a few days in a space hotel. We may even choose to leave the earth or live in space in a few years. So we should care for space and do something to help improve the space environment. 

In spring 2021, Battersea Arts Centre, a venue（地点）in southwest London, introduced "pay what you can" for all its shows. The reason is simple—they believe that everyone should be able to be a part of the great work, regardless of(不管) their ability to pay. Should all shows be "paid what you can"?

Some supporters believe it's a good idea. In the 17th century when Shakespeare was writing his plays, everyone went to the theatre. The cheapest ticket in London was one penny. This is how shows should be open to everyone, no matter how much they earn. Paying what you can is in the spirit of Shakespeare's time, and it opens the arts to all. It also shows that many art venues are a type of charity(慈善机构) that provide public benefits and spread culture. That doesn't mean the show isn't good. 

However, this idea makes some people worried and some opponents(反对者) are against it. Society expects art for free—free art shows, free music, free videos. ____ For some people "pay what you can" would mean "pay what you want to"—nothing. It is expensive to put on a show. If the audience want to see a good show, they should pay a part of what it costs to put on. A survey by Arts Professional magazine found that many people a-void shows not because they are too expensive but be-cause they don't think they will enjoy themselves. Art venues should focus on making the best shows they can, and price the tickets to reflect the quality(质量). 

Many people now are taking workcations. The word is from"work"and"vacation". It is when you take a vacation and do some work for your office at the same time.

You can work when you want to. You can check your emails while you sit and enjoy the beach under the sun. Also, you can make pictures or videos for money while you travel around the country.

Workcations help people. When people are not in the office, their minds are clear. So, it's easy for them to think and have new ideas. People can work and have fun at the same time on workcations.They don't get bored. Also, they have more energy( 精力 ) to do things.

However, some people don't like workcations. For them, there's still pressure(压力) to finish all the work. They also feel tired because they can't have and enjoy a real vacation.

Workcations are good for some people, but they are also bad for others. That's because everybody works in different ways. How about you? Do you want to mix your work and life together?

In Spanish, the word "mañana" means tomorrow. You might, for example, hear it from a student who decides to put off doing his homework only because he wants to watch a show all evening. 

This is just something that many people do — procrastination (拖延). They always think it is no big deal. It is just a way to put off doing things. But if procrastination happens all the time, it may have a bad influence on both their mental (心理) health and physical health. 

Why do people procrastinate? Usually, it's believed that it is because they can't manage their time well. However, the key is that they are not able to manage their feelings. When they procrastinate, there is always something they don't like about a certain activity. By procrastinating, they feel relaxed right away. Sadly, the feeling never continues. At last, procrastination will make them worried. 

So how can we fight procrastination? One of the best ways is to break down a project into smaller parts and work step by step. Before we even think about putting them off, we've already finished all of them. In this way, we can get a whole project finished long before mañana comes!

When you go to the park, you might notice many older people listening to audiobooks (有声书). Audiobooks have become quite welcome these days. Why are more and more people choosing audiobooks over paper books? Is listening to an audiobook just as beneficial (有益的) as reading a book?

Reading needs us to focus (集中) all our attention(注意) on the words in a book, and we also need to find time and a place to sit down and read. However, you can listen to audiobooks any time and any place you like, and it gives your eyes a break, too.

But the big question is, do we get knowledge from audiobooks as effectively (有效地) as we do from paper books? Researchers did a study to find the answer. Volunteers (志愿者) in Group One were asked to listen to an audiobook while volunteers in Group Two read a book of the same content (内容). It turned out that they recalled the same amount of information, whether they listened to it or read it.

Another study published in the Journal of Neuroscience further supported (支持) the result above. In the study, researchers scanned people's brains when they listened to and read books, and they learned how their brains worked. The result showed that listening to audiobooks activates (激活) almost the same parts of the brain as reading does.

However, some people still believe that they learn better from reading paper books. One reason might be that when we listen to audiobooks, we are often multitasking (处理多个任务). "If you're trying to learn while doing two things, you're not going to learn as well," Daniel Willingham, a professor of psychology at the University of Virginia, told The New York Times.

During the National Day holiday, the sky above Shenzhen was lit up by impressive drone(无人机) light shows. This"cyber fireworks" lit up the night, painting a lively picture of Shenzhen as a"City of Miracles, City of Innovation. City of Future". A total of 10197 DAMODA drones took to the sky at the same time, setting two Guinness World Records. So how does the drone light show work?

 Before a drone light show begins, drones are usually put on the ground one by one and it would take a lot of time to prepare a show with more than ten thousand drones. To shorten the time, the DAMODA drone company thought of a solution. The company put groups of drones into big boxes with specific QR codes on it. By putting the boxes into correct places, thousands of drones can be ready in a short time and they can go back to their"homes" by scanning the OR codes. 

 In drone shows, each drone is programmed by a computer to follow its own flight direction, carefully avoiding the other drones. They communicate with neighbouring drones and use sensors(传感器) to keep a certain distance. The position and LED colours change throughout the performance to show different objects in the night sky. 

 Drone light shows are thought to be more environmentally friendly— and certainly cause less noise and light pollution— than fireworks shows, so lots of big events are turning to them instead of fireworks. Drones can also be reused again and again so they will probably be more popular in the future.
