I first met an 8-year-old Katy on a rainy afternoon. I was a 1at a hospital. The clerk at he desk told me about Katy. She was there because she felt a lot of 2. The doctors found a problem at the base of her brain(大脑). I knew she was 3, even before she got better.

    When I entered Katy's room, she was not in her bed. 4 Katy did not feel well, she was playing with Tommy, a little boy. She had much 5sitting in the chair. But she played with Tommy because it made him 6.

    Katy was always smiling and never appeared to be in pain. She 7to just lie in bed. One day I found her painting a picture. Later, she gave it to one of the older patients. Another day she went outside to 8flowers for another sick little girl. Katy made 9smile.

    The doctors 10to solve the problem in Katy's brain. The operation was successfully! Katy was fine. She soon felt 11. Then she was able to 12the hospital a month later.

    I have worked as a nurse for a long time. I have met many patients. 13, I have never met another girl like Katy. Even after she got well, she still came to the hospital. She played different games with the young patients. She read many books the 14patients. Katy's kind heart helped her get better so 15. She is a hero to me and everyone else at the hospital.

"Yes, I will, " I wrote. "There is still some snow on the ground in the yard. " And I sent her a few photos of it. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}, the weather report brought me bad news. It said. the weather would be sunny at noon. This made me {#blank#}5{#/blank#}（feel） worried.

"Grandma, the weather is so cold, but I enjoy playing {#blank#}8{#/blank#} snow, " Jayne said. Then she started to build a snowman. After working for a while, a lovely snowman {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（finish）. At last, she put her hat on its head. It looked nicer and {#blank#}10{#/blank#}（smart）. She kept playing outside until her hands got wet and cold. 

Watching her playing in the snow made me realize that small things can also make us happy. 

Anna Brown is a painter. She is always ready to 1 others. Once, she knew that there were lots of children with illnesses in her town and their families were in need of money. Anna 2 to see what she could do for them. It was 3 for her to give them a lot of money, so she had to think of another way.

"Act your age," said Aunt Augusta sharply(严厉地). Frances had been blowing bubbles(气泡) in her bedtime milk. But it seemed that Aunt Augusta was 1 anyway.

 Frances was quiet. She felt better when Aunt Augusta had 2 visiting them and gone home.

 The next day, Frances was playing ring-around-the-rosy with her five-year-old sister, Grace. Just then Frances's friend Julie 3 . "You'd Was Frances getting better act your age," said Julie. "What will our friends 4 ?"

 At the thought of 10 Aunt Augusta being told to act her age, Frances started to laugh. Then she started to sputter(喷). The more she tried to stop, the 11 she laughed and sputtered. Finally even Aunt Augusta managed a small. 12 and murmured(低语), "I guess I should."

 Grandma chuckled(轻声笑) and said, "That's the first time I' ve heard Frances laugh all evening. I'm glad she remembers 13 to smile."

 The next afternoon Frances was playing hopscotch(跳房子游戏) with Grace when Julie came over.

"Hopscotch?" asked Julie. "You 14 play a baby game like hopscotch?"

"Yes,I do, "said Frances firmly.

 There didn't seem to be anything left for Julie to say. For a while she watched Frances and Grace hopping and giggling(咯咯笑) and playing. Then 15 she asked, "May I play, too?"
