With only one yuan, could you live in a city for one day? It may sound impossible.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}

On April 10th, more than 60 students from a middle school took part in the One Yuan Metropolis Survival(一元城市生存). A charity organization(慈善组织) for teenagers held this activity.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} And it is going to four others, including Beijing.

In the activity, students had to live and deal with difficult tasks. To make money, many students looked for part-time jobs and saw how hard life was. A 14-year-old girl asked more than 10 restaurants for a job and finally got one. "{#blank#}3{#/blank#} But gradually, we got used to it," she said. After being a waiter for an hour, she got 25 yuan.

Living was hard, but finishing the tasks wasn't any easier. The students went to different places to finish tasks in a short time. The most amazing one was when they had to exchange things worth a thousand yuan with only a piece of paper in half an hour. "{#blank#}4{#/blank#} From a balloon to a cake to a bottle of yogurt...after almost 20 tries, we got an expensive ring," a student said. "We will give all of the money we have raised to poor schools in Tibet."

Mr. Green is very rich. On New Year's Day, he decided to 1 his worker Tom some money. He told Tom, "There are four bowls of porridge here. I 2 two gold coins in one of the bowls (碗) . Let's see if you have enough 3 to get them."

Tom wanted the gold coins very much, but he wasn't sure which 4 was the right one. He ate some porridge 5 the first bowl. But he thought the gold coins might be in the second bowl, so he turned to it and ate half porridge. He then ate some porridge in the 6 bowl, too. But he didn't find any gold coin. He started to get a little 7 .

At last, he ate half of the porridge in the fourth bowl. However, Tom was too 8 to take another bite (一小口) . As a result, he didn't get 9 one gold coin. 

In fact, Mr. Green put two coins in every bowl. If Tom 10 just one bowl of porridge, he would find at least two gold coins. 

Life is the same as this! If you keep working, you'll get something at last. 

It was one of the hottest days of the dry season. If we didn't see any rain soon, we would lose everything.

 One day when I was in the kitchen,I {#blank#}1{#/blank#} my six- year- old son, Billy, walking towards the forest. He was clearly trying to be as still(平静的) as possible. Several minutes later, he disappeared into the forest, and then he ran out again, towards the house. This activity went on for an hour, walking{#blank#}2{#/blank#} to the forest and running back to the house. I really wanted to know {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Billy was doing.

 Finally I followed him into the forest. I found that he was holding a cup of water. He walked very carefully not to drop the water.

I saw a baby deer(鹿) lying on the ground. It lifted its head to drink the water in myson's cup. After the deer drank up, Billy jumped up and ran back to the house to get more water.

 When he saw me, he said,"I'm not wasting, mother."I found that his eyes were filled with tears.

"I know."I watched the most beautiful heart working so hard to save {#blank#}4{#/blank#} life. Tears ran down my face. As my tear drops began to hit the ground, more drops suddenly joined them. I looked up{#blank#}5{#/blank#} the sky. It was raining.

 The actions of one little boy saved a life, and the rain saved our farm.

When I was in primary school, I got into a big argument(争吵) with a boy in my class. I have forgotten what the argument was about, but I have never forgotten the 1 I learned that day. 

I was sure that I was right and he was wrong, but he was certain that I was wrong and he was right. Our teacher decided to 2 us a very important lesson. 

She brought us up to the front of the class and placed him on one side of her desk and me on3 . In the middle of her desk was a large, round object(物体). I could obviously see that it was black. She asked the boy what    4 the object was. "5 , " he answered. 

I couldn't believe he said the object was white, when it was 6 black! Another argument started between us, this time about the color of the object. 

The teacher told me to go stand7 the boy was standing. We changed places, and then she asked me what color the object was. I had to answer, " White. "

It was an object with two 8 colored sides, and from his viewpoint it was white. Only from my side was it black. 

Sometimes we need to9 things from the other person's view in order to truly 10 them. 

Mike is happy because he can ride his e- bike well. But he doesn't like 1 a helmet (头盔) when he rides it. His mum tells him that it is 2 , but he doesn't listen to her. 

Last Sunday morning, his dad had a cold (感冒), so Mike went to buy some 3 for him by e- bike. On the way he saw some people on the side of the road. Mike stopped and wanted to find out 4 was going on. As he came closer, he saw a woman lying on the ground. Her face looked 5 and she was putting her head in her hands. "She was talking on the phone and didn't 6 the road cleaner. She stopped in time but fell off her e- bike. 7 , the cleaner didn't hurt," a young woman told Mike. 

"Look, Dad! There is much 8 on her face," a girl shouted. "But we can't move her. We have to wait till an ambulance (救护车) 9 ," her dad said. Minutes later, the ambulance came. A doctor first moved the woman's arms and legs slowly, then looked 10 her head. "There is 11 serious with her legs and arms, but her head seems to hurt badly. Let's move her into the ambulance," the 12 said. 

Then Mike heard a voice. "Don't listen to music or make phone calls 13 riding and driving! And remember to wear a helmet when riding a bike. It can help cut down the 14 of accidents," said a policeman. 

Mike learnt a lesson from the 15 ! "I will wear my helm et from now on," he said to himself. 

 Sam Smith has always been a hard-working student. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(然而), it was difficult for him to study English at the beginning of the term, and he was trying to catch up with his {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(问班同学). He was not good at speaking at first, but he tried to take an active part in the English class and have English {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(交谈) with his friends and me. During the break, I often saw him read English books, which helped him have a{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(宽阔的) view of the world. So I'm very pleased that at the end of this term, Sam Smith {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(改善) greatly and came top of our class.

 Besides learning English. Sam also made great efforts in sports games. In the last basketball Match {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (对) the Greenland School, he scored most! Now he has become a shining star on the basketball court by {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (训练) hard. I also find that Sam is a boy full of love. He helped look after the animals in the Animal Shelter. To {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (保护) more animals in danger, he wrote to the local {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (政府) and called on people to stop buying products made from animals.

Sam should be really proud of himself. I'm sure he will go to his dream {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (大学) one day if he keeps working hard. Best wishes to him!
