特别的晚会

There is a dress party in our class. Miss Smith buys us different costumes(服装). My costume looks like a rabbit. I like it very much and I feel very h{#blank#}1{#/blank#}. I put on my costume and play with my brother. Suddenly, he rips(扯) one ear off. I am really a{#blank#}2{#/blank#} with him. I want to cry. My dad says, "Don't cry and don't be s{#blank#}3{#/blank#}. We can fix(修) it together."

The next day, I feel w{#blank#}4{#/blank#}before the party starts, because I think my costume is not beautiful. But I say to myself, "Don't be a{#blank#}5{#/blank#}."I try to calm down(冷静)and dance well. After the show, Miss Smith says, "You are so lovely!" Now I know calm is important.

This is my new friend. His name is Nail. He is {#blank#}1{#/blank#} . He is very {#blank#}2{#/blank#} . He helps me clean the desk and floor after the activity. He has a yellow {#blank#}3{#/blank#}  and brown{#blank#}4{#/blank#} . He has {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  in his schoolbag.

Mary is a little girl. She is only five years old. She does not go to school. She can't read or write. Her sister Cathy is a schoolgirl. She is ten. She can read and write well. Onc day, Cathy sees her little sister Mary in the room. She is at the table. There is a pencil in her hand. She   is writing. "What are you writing, Mary?" she asks. "I'm writing to my friend Rose.""But how can you? You don't know how to write. You are only five.""Well," says Mary, "It doesn't matter. Rose can't read, either(也). She is five too."

The meeting lasted three hours. Mr. Jackson looked at the clock on the wall. It was a quarter to eight."The last bus started fifteen minutes ago," thought the man. "It means I' ll have to stay in a hotel tonight."

Mr. Jackson always drove home after work. He lived outside the city. There was something wrong with his car these days, so he had to take a bus to his office. That afternoon, he had to discuss something important with others, so he couldn't catch the bus. At last, the meeting was over. It began to snow after he came out of the warm office. He wanted some warm food and soup first. Most restaurants were full of people and he went into a small one. The waiter came up quickly and showed the menu to him.

"Some hot soup, pleases said Mr. Jackson.

About twenty minutes later, the young man brought the soup to him. When Mr. Jackson was drinking, he found something in it. "Come here, boy." he called out, "Look! There's a gray hair in my soup!"

"It's very strange, sir," said the waiter. "It's usually a fly, I remember."

     In the old days, people usually travelled by horse when they wanted to go a long way. A man named Ming lived in the country. One day, his mother said to him, ^"Your uncle is very ill and he needs this medicine. You must take it to him quickly. Your uncle lives in the town. It's a long way from our house. It will take you two days to get there on a horse."

    Ming thought for a minute and said to himself, ^"One horse ...two days. I know what I can do." The he said to his mother "Don't worry, Mum. I'm clever. I think I can get there in one day." Ming ran to the market and bought two horses for his journey.
