Last month, I went to Australia and had great fun there. My first stop was Sydney. I visited the Sydney Opera House first, then the Bondi Beach. On the beach, I saw many people lying （躺）in the sun. I never saw this in my country. It was very interesting. 

The next morning, I went to Fraser Island. The island is about 122 km long. It has beautiful lakes and beaches. I joined a Fraser Island camp with some friends. We drove a car around the island. We swam and enjoyed a barbecue （烧烤） on the beach together. We had a wonderful time. 

However, there were also many problems, One was that I couldn't speak English well. I wanted to talk with people there and make friends with them. But I didn't know what they said. Because of this, I often lost my way, too. Luckily, people there were so kind to give help. 

From the trip I feel that the world is small. I come to know that I have to study English very hard.

Li Hua：What's more，they weren't the only ones that appeared in it. Students from many universities in Sichuan {#blank#}3{#/blank#}to work for it without being paid. Most of them{#blank#}4{#/blank#}service and comfortable environment for these sportsmen and sportswomen. 

Lily：I agree with you. They worked and danced tirelessly and excitedly that night. Because of their support ，the opening ceremony was held very{#blank#}5{#/blank#} . 

Li Hua：That's right. {#blank#}6{#/blank#}at the opening ceremony were also wonderful. Many young people danced and sang for it. Sichuan Opera Face changing also appeared. 

Lily：I watched that. It's an{#blank#}7{#/blank#}opera with over hundreds of years' history. However，its history is {#blank#}8{#/blank#}longer than that of the Golden Sun Bird which had been put at the Jinsha museum. 

Lily：You mean the Golden Sun Bird. I know that. When the main torch was lit by torchbearers（火炬手），four golden birds and the sun also{#blank#}9{#/blank#}brightly. 

Li Hua：Because it symbolizes hope and brightness，we{#blank#}10{#/blank#}it as the logo（徽标） of the sports event. Moreover，I hope you can have a good trip in Chengdu!

As the powerful singing voice of 71-year-old Liu Aibang echoes( 回 荡 ) across the classroom, students control shadow puppets (皮影木偶) with thin straight pieces of wood, making them step onto the "stage"—a cloth screen provided with light from behind. Those sitting in front of the stage play music on drums, suona and other instruments. 

This is a Daoqing Shadow Puppetry class at Longdong University. Besides Liu. the other performers of the show are all college students. Starting in the Han Dynasty, Daoqing Shadow Puppetry has been included in the national intangible cultural heritage list(非物质文化遗产名单) since 2006. 

However, with technologies becoming more and more popular, many performers moved on to other jobs. Faced with the choice between protecting this art and making a good living, Liu chose to stay on. 

One day in 2020, Liu got a phone call from Zhao Zhixue, the director of the music school at Longdong University. Zhao told him that the school planned to introduce Daoqing Shadow Puppetry into college classrooms. "We want to develop young students'long-term interest in intangible cultural heritage, "said Zhao. 

Excited by the news, Liu became a part-time teacher at the college. He came to school twice a week, teaching a two-hour class each time. Liu hopes to train more young people. "Just as true love is not a one-man show, the inheritance(传承) of cultural heritage needs efforts from both the old and the young, "Liu said.

This morning I went out to have breakfast in a small restaurant with a friend. It was sunny and the wind was gentle. Everything was lovely. But what wasn't lovely was the lady who took our order. She spoke to my friend in a way that was unhappy, certainly not friendly, and sort of rude. Working in hotel myself, I noticed it.

When it came to my turn to get close and order my food, I thought to myself, "What can I do here to make her day nice, to touch her to make her smile?". I was watching her and considering what to do.

Surely there must be something I could do. Then there it was and I knew，it was her voice. She had the most unbelievably well-spoken and clear voice. It was so good. It's so clear, well-spoken and sounds so professional. That was it.

So after she took my order and gave the same unfriendly attitude. I told her , "I hope you don't mind me saying, but____. " I told her how she honestly had one of those voices that would be perfect for announcements or even radio.

Her whole face lit up. She smiled (the first time I had seen her do so) and as I left and walked away, I noticed her whole attitude change. The customer behind me received a totally different kind of service. A happier one. All because of the simple thing I did. Surprisingly, she sent me a note to show her thanks when we pay the bill, which also makes my lovely day.

There was a time when this sort of thing would have embarrassed（使尴尬） me. Or I'd have been too shy to say such a thing. Not now. Now I must! Why? Because there is great power in words and I have the power. The power to completely change someone's day by something as simple as a few kind words and being kind. And you have this power too. We all do.
