Leonardo da Vinci was a famous artist who was born in Italy. He was also a great inventor. Many of his inventions have become important in modern life. Although Leonardo hated war. he invented many different machines used for war. His most special invention was the machine gun, which was produced and used in war. Besides, Leonardo spent days thinking about how to save time. He developed ideas for something like cutting machines.

Leonardo was a strange man. He never ate meat. That was very unusual in those times. He never published(发表) discoveries about science. He usually used mirror writing, which looks like usual writing in a mirror, starting from the right side of the page and moving to the left side。

Only a few of his paintings are left today. Many paintings were not finished because he thought they were not perfect.

Leonardo was talented and creative. He was regarded as one of the most intelligent men in the world.

It's 8：00 am. A new term(学期)begins. This is the first class. 

Betty's new teacher comes into the classroom. She is a nice girl. "Good morning, boys and girls. Welcome to Class 3, Grade 7. I'm your English teacher—Helen Miller. You can call me Ms Miller or Helen. I'm from London and my phone number is 8336 001. I hope you like me. " 

"I like you, Helen，"one girl says. "My name's Kate King. I'm from Oxford. My phone number is 8975 002. " Then Kate gives a red flower to Ms Miller. 

"Helen, I love you，"one boy says. "I'm Dave Black from Cambridge. My phone number is 8790 041. "And Dave gives a red flower to Ms Miller, too. 

After that, two girls stand up and say, "We like you, too, Ms Miller. " Helen is surprised (惊讶的) to see them. They look the same. "We're twins from Liverpool，"one girl says. "I'm Lucy Brown and she is Lily Brown. Our phone number is 8790 032. " Then Ms Miller gets two red flowers again…

That day was a very good day. The volunteers who visited an orphanage(孤儿院) now became the best friends each

other. The four persons were Li Hui, the reporter of Jing Newspaper, Zhao Qiang and Huang Jian, reporters of Chongqing Television Station, and me. 

According to our experience of driving in the disaster area, it would be OK to drive in the morning, but the road was dangerous in the afternoon. So this morning we got offat 6:00 am. It is about 40 kilometers aim place. It would take not  more than one hour normally. However, because of poor road conditions, we tried twice but failed to go through. We had to stop driving to wait for road repairing. It was very dangerous to park on the road in the mountain. To be honest, my    experience in the disaster area were over load(超负荷). I almost couldn't stand. But one thing had been supporting me, I had been very grateful to have such a chance to help the people of disaster area, to have such a chance to share my love.  When we took two vehicles(卡车) supplies to the orphanage, the leader of the orphanage Mr. Lang with 31 children was too excited to say anything. 

David is a 15-year-old boy and he is crazy about space. He always wonders how space stations work. For him, a space camp is 1 than any other camp in the world.

At the age of seven, David had 2 first astronaut (宇航员) training experience. He and his parents 3 to a Family Space Camp. They had a taste of what it was like to travel 4 space. Everything was magical. 5 excited David was!

David has been to many space camps over the last eight years. Last month, he went to 6 new space camp. It had a lot of fun training programs, 7 he enjoyed all of them. There he was often asked 8 he liked space camps so much. "I feel like a real astronaut in the space camp, and I don't even need 9 the earth," he said.

These experiences have influenced his life. Now David10 space science. He has made up his mind to be a space engineer in the future.

Betty collected a basket of seashells. She showed them to Amy." Look! They are all1 . These are big, and those are small. Some look like beautiful animals… Well, I can use them to make a birthday present for my Dad! How wonderful!"

Suddenly, Amy saw the sea water rising along the beach. She was 2 and cried," The waves! They will take your toys!"

" Put my seashells onto the bus, Amy!" Betty ra n 3 to get her toys.

Just when Amy was about to get the basket onto the bus, she fell down and the shells4 into pieces.

When Betty 5 , she saw the pieces and cried. Amy tried to tell her what happened, but Betty still looked 6 and didn't talk to Amy. Amy didn't know what to do, so she took them home.

The next morning at school, Amy found Betty on her 7 . She walked over to her desk and took out a frame(框) and a bag of seashells." Betty, I 8 some nice seashell pieces from the broken ones last night. Shall we glue(粘) them to the frame together? We can put a( an) 9 of your family in it. It will be a wonderful present." Amy said. Betty agreed. Together they made a beautiful frame.

" Sorry, I wasn't careful yesterday, Betty." Amy said."I know the shells are 10 to you."

"I should also say‘ sorry' to you. I like them, but you' re my best friend." Betty smiled.
