In space, there was a little grey planet. It looked very 1 , because the people who lived there didn't look after it. They polluted (污染) the whole planet heavily 2 rubbish. As a result, there were few plants and animals left.

One day, a little boy, Jim, was 3 on the planet. When he passed a cave (山洞), he 4 a small red flower inside. The flower was very ill — almost dying, so Jim 5 dug(挖) up the flower. Then he started looking for a 6 to take care of it. He searched all over the planet, but everywhere was polluted so much that there was 7 the flower could possibly live in. Then he looked up at the 8 . It seemed that maybe the plant could live there.

Jim decided to go there. He 9 a spaceship and put the little red flower in the back. Then they 10 to the moon. Far away from all that pollution, the flower soon grew up, giving 11 to others, and these other flowers spread onto other flowers. Soon the flowers 12 the whole moon. When the little boy's flowers came out, the moon gave out a soft red light. It was the most 13 scenery (风景) the boy had ever seen.

Maybe the story is telling us 14 we don't look after the planet, a day will come when flowers can only grow on the moon. So we must be 15 to the planet that we are living on now.

It's Jimmy's birthday and he is 9 years old. He gets a lot of presents from his family and one of them is a big drum（鼓）. His grandfather buys it for him

Jimmy likes it very much. He plays with it every day and he often makes a terrible noise (可怕的声音), His father works in the day and Jimmy is in bed when he gets home in the evening. So his father doesn't hear the noise.

But Mrs. Black doesn't like the noise, so one morning she takes a sharp knife and goes to Jimmy's room when he hits his drum. She says to him, "Hello! Jimmy. Do you know there is something very nice in your drum? Here is a knife. Please open the drum and let's find it. "

"Chinese New Year is the most important festival in China, and the beautiful thing I like is the way we put up ‘Fu (福)' outside. We change the direction, and it means that Fu has already come, " said Emma, from France. Running a French restaurant in Hangzhou, Emma seems to know everything about it. Actually Barbara, a German designer who is running a children's wear brand in Shenyang, is full of praise for Chinese food, especially Yuanxiao (元宵). "We always prepare some handmade lanterns (灯笼) to celebrate the Lantern Festival, " she added, "This year for Chinese New Year I gave out some special Hongbao, but the most important thing is the money inside. " 

Zhang Luka from Italy is a big fan of Chinese culture. He told us what his first experience with the Spring Festival was like. "At that time, I saw everyone leaving, taking big bags and going back home. All of a sudden, all the restaurants were closed and take-out food was pretty difficult to order as well. What an unbelievable story! Luckily, after the first year, I got to meet many Chinese friends and enjoyed the holidays in a Chinese way. This was the opportunity for me to really get close to Chinese culture. "

In some parts of the world, children don't have enough food to eat or enough money to buy clothes or shoes. Every year at Sunshine Middle School, we do something to collect money for these children. This year we will have a Market Day. 

The Market Day will fall on July 8. We are going to make the student center at our school look just like a big shopping center! People can come at any time from 9:00 a. m. to 5:00 p. m. and buy every- thing from clothes to books, cakes and flowers. 

Luckily for us, many volunteers (志愿者) will help prepare for the big event. Last year, Ms. Grant and Ms. Ali made some wonderful cakes for our charity. They will do it again this year. Bill Thomas will visit Bookworm Bookshop and Mel's Music Shop and ask them to give us things that we can sell at the event. Philip White will e- mail all the teachers and ask them to come to our event. Alice Brow n will put a message online telling the public the event is open to everyone. 

However, there is more to do, and we need your help. We want you to give us things that we can sell- books, old clothes, anything that we can sell to collect money for poor children. We also need some student volunteers to sell the things we get on Market Day. 

With your help, we will certainly have a successful Market Day!
