We are compared with others all the time. Our parents may compare us with our sisters and brothers. Our teachers compare us with other students. They want to use these ways to cheer us up and hope we can become the good examples. But most of the time, we are too stressed to move forward.

We are compared with others about everything like grades and heights. As a result, when we do something, we hope to get praise (表扬) from others, especially from our parents and teachers. When we can't get praise, we won't be happy. This also makes us feel very uncomfortable and stressed. However, in fact, it will be helpful for us if we treat (看待) it in a right way. From comparison (比较), we can understand ourselves better and learn about the differences between us and others. This pushes us forward all the time.

We can not run away from comparing. Always keep in your mind that your only competitor (竞争者) is yourself—it is the most important competitor for you.

Are leaders born or {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (make)? Some believe that leaders are born. They say you can find leadership traits (特质) at a young age by watching {#blank#}2{#/blank#}  (they) getting along with other children. These children {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (be) often very popular or have lots of friends. Although this is true, I believe leadership can be made later. I believe this  {#blank#}4{#/blank#} I don't think anyone is perfect. Some people are smart {#blank#}5{#/blank#} school and they can get good grades, while others seem to be {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (clever) outside of school and they like taking part in creative {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (active).

①Hello, everyone. (A) I arrived in China two months ago. Like every other foreigner, I had to face some "culture shocks". Here I would like to share them with you.

②China has about 20% of the world's (B) ____. But when I stepped outside into public areas and sees a lot of people, I was shocked. They looked almost the same, all dark hair and dark eyes.

③The next is the language problem. When I first decided to go to China, I didn't know (C) ____ to communicate with Chinese. I thought they couldn't speak English. But now I know many Chinese learn English at school. And I would always be able to find help.

④Now the next one is my favorite one. Chinese have the same love—FOOD. There are all kinds of food in China. When I walk in China, I can see food stalls (摊位) everywhere. The smell from (D) them really interests me.

⑤All in all, I like China. I find the Chinese are the most helpful and the kindest people in the world. Whenever I meet with difficulty, I can get a hand from the strangers to solve my problem.

What do the people usually do on weekends? Some people like to stay at home. Some like to take a walk or do sports. My friend Jack works hard in a factory during the weekdays. At the weekend, he always does the same things. On Saturdays he washes his car. And on Sundays he goes with his family to his uncle's farm in his car. The farm isn't big, but they often have many things to do there. The children play with the animals and feed them. Jack and his wife help in the field. At the end of the day, they are all hungry and they have a big meal there. The food is very fresh and delicious. After dinner, the two families talk together and watch TV. Everyone has a good time on the farm. At about nine o'clock, Jack and his family leave his uncle's farm and drive back home.

Animals are people's friends. But many wild animals are facing the {#blank#}1{#/blank#}of dying out, because the environment they are living in is {#blank#}2{#/blank#}greatly. For example , their living area has become much {#blank#}3{#/blank#} than before . They have no room to live in except the zoo. And many of the wild animals now can't find enough food by{#blank#}4{#/blank#} . At the same time, man is killing off animals just for getting their meat, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} and fur.

We should know how difficult the situation is and try our {#blank#}6{#/blank#}to protect the animals. First, the government should{#blank#}7{#/blank#} up some nature reserves to make animals live freely and develop other plans. Second, people should stop {#blank#}8{#/blank#} the animals. {#blank#}9{#/blank#} , we should also do something to make our world cleaner. Fresh air, clean water and green grass are so important that we must work hard to {#blank#}10{#/blank#} them .

Remember: the death of the animals will bring a disaster(灾难）to human beings.(人类）
