My dad bought me a new Jeep when I was 17,but the real gift was what he taught me about life through this car. very month, on the first day, he asked me to pay him $150 if I wanted to continue driving my Jeep. If I didn't pay, I couldn't drive my car(or "his car",as he often reminded me(所有权)).My dad was(and still is)a successful businessman,$150 was more than I usually made every month.I had to work harder. Although I was unhappy about my father's request,I always made sure to give him $150 on the first day of each month.
The day I graduated from high school,my dad pulled me into his office at our house for a talk.
"Kevin,"he gave me a white box and said,"here is your graduation present. To be honest,this is actually a present you gave yourself."I opened the box carefully,and almost started crying when I realized he just gave me $3,600! It was 24 car payments that he had saved for the last two years.Every payment I gave him went straight into this box.By asking me to pay him every month,how to use my money and how to be responsible.My dad is and will forever be the best man I have ever known.
Four years later he gave me the title to the Jeep,as my college graduation gift.

Jamie Oliver is one of the Britain's most talented and successful chefs(厨师). However it wasn't until later, while working at the well-known River Cafe, that he was discovered by people working in television. Realizing that he could create real, positive change through food and cooking, Jamie turned his attention to the food given to British children at school. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} He knew things needed to change. Understanding the power of television, Jamie based himself in a school cafeteria and proved that with hard work, change was possible. Jamie'sSchoolDinnerswas again shown all over the world.
GETTING BACK TO BASICS
Jamie also decided to make a difference in people's homes. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} In 2010, he also developed a new qualification(资格),"Jamie's Home Cooking Skills", which is offered in high schools around the UK and teaches children practical cooking skills and basic food knowledge.

◆ Peter: It's good for the environment. You should just start from yourself, do something to reduce air pollution and keep the air clean. Then try to ride a bike to school or to work.
◆ Mark: Now, we are so busy that we often don't have time to exercise. Riding can give us the chance. It is good for our mind and body.
