IQ scores have been measured (测量)since 1916, when Alfred Binet developed his intelligence list as follows:

    Some very famous people are known for their high IQ level. Jill St. John who has the highest score on this list was a major American film actress during the 1960's and 1970's. Jill was chosen to the University of California at the age of 14.

    Scientists have estimated (估算)the IQ scores that some famous historical people might have got. This was done by looking at their work and their ideas and the way they put them together Leonardo da Vinci gets that high score not only for his art but also for his idea of the helicopter (直升飞机). Without modern scientific tools, he created a lot of design drawings and patterns, which was ahead of his time.

Anna's coat is too small. She goes shopping with her mother on Sunday. They go into a clothing shop first (首先). She wants to buy a new coat. Anna finds a green coat in the clothing shop. She likes it very much. She tries it on, but it's too small for her. She wants a big one, but the big one is not green. She isn't happy. Then she wants to go to another (另外的) shop to have a look. Then they find a new shop. The shop is big. There they see many kinds of coats in different colors and sizes (尺码). Anna tries on a green one. It looks nice on her. Anna is very happy. She takes it for fifty yuan.

The kites in Weifang never disappoint. Every year the Weifang International Kite Festival amazes visitors with creative kites, as "paper birds" of varied designs keep appearing in the sky.

Kites in China can originate from the Warring States Period when Mozi made the first "wooden kite". Kites didn't actually become popular until the Ming Dynasty. By the middle of the Qing Dynasty, artists who were good at kite making began to appear in Weifang. In 1984, the first Weifang International Kite Festival was held.

Kites were used in China during the wars at the very beginning. For example, they can be used to record wind readings, similar to ship flags at sea. Over time, kites became connected with relaxing activities, and were often flown during festivals and holidays.

Today, kite-flying is a popular activity in China, and the Weifang International Kite Festival is one of the largest kite festivals in the world. In 2024, 622 kite artists from 59 countries and areas took part in the event. Zhang Xiaodong,74, has attended all the festivals. In the early days, he only brought traditional kites to take part in the competitions, but this time, he used sound and light to make the story of Chang'e flying to the moon come "alive".

The festival is a great platform to share kite-making skills. It also brings the people of China and other countries closer. As one citizen put it, "No matter how far away kite lovers go, there is always a 'thread' in their heart that can pull them together."

Kate is both my neighbour and my best friend. I first met her five years ago. 

Kate is tall and slim(苗条的). She has long hair. She has big eyes and a small nose. I like her smiling face best. It makes her look really pretty and kind. Kate is a friendly girl. She always has a smile on her face and looks happy. She likes to help people. She helps me with my homework and she is very patient. When I feel bored or unhappy, I often go to her. She will talk to me and tell me interesting things. 

Kate wants to work with children. She would like to be a teacher when she grows up. I think she will be a great teacher.
