My friend and I met in high school and we have known each other for nearly eight years. She is a nice and {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (有耐心的) girl. When I meet difficulties, she always {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(鼓励;激励) me and helps me. We think nothing would {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(使分开;分隔) us. But what happened recently changed my idea about friendship. It also made me think about what friendship really means.

One day, I saw a note she wrote on the Internet. It was about my {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(私人的;个人的) feelings I once told her. I was sad and hurt {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(当时;那时) because she posted what I told her for other people to see. I wished she'd keep everything between us.

After that, I often sat in {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(寂静;无声) and seldom talked with her. I didn't {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(信任;信赖) her any more. She found I was unhappy. One day she came to my home and {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(解释;说明) the note to me. She {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (懊悔) for doing that. And she said she would never do that again. Finally we became friends again. I think friendship is the most valuable {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(珍宝;珍贵之物). It also means that we should forgive each other for our mistakes.

①Walking slowly out of the classroom by himself to the dining room; taking his lunch; sitting and eating alone at a table of four seats, such moments are pretty normal to be seen on the 14-year-old schoolboy, Peter. He spends most of his school time on his own, which makes his parents worry about him so much.

②His parents' worries are easy to understand. It is widely accepted that being alone is a symbol of being left out and can bring a lot of trouble. Most people believe teenagers who are usually alone do have few friends and are unable to fit in with other people. At the same time, they are at greater risk of having mental(心理的) problems.

③However, a new study by some researchers at Wilmington College, shows that this may not always be true. Whether it is bad for teenagers or not depends on the reasons why teenagers are alone. If it is their choice, it may play an active role in their personal growth.

④According to their study, when teenagers choose to think alone, they put 100% of their attention into what is in their mind and are more likely to experience deeper thoughts and feelings than working with others. They may have a greater chance to create something new, In this way they can better develop their creativity(创造力).

⑤On the other hand, the ongoing noise children's brains receive every day can put great stress on them and make it hard for them to focus. Being alone lets them shut themselves off from the noisy outside world and think about what's best for them. Slowly they improve their ability to focus.

⑥As a matter of fact, our culture is always biased(有偏见的) against being alone. Maybe it is the right time for us to rethink about Peter's situation before we say what's happening to him.

Breakfast is very important for us. If we want to be 1 , we should have a good breakfast every day. For breakfast, we can eat many kinds of 2 , like eggs, bread, milk and so on. They are really 3 for our health.

 It is possible that in 50 years the only tigers in the world will be in zoos. One hundred years ago, there were maybe 100,000 tigers in the world. Today scientists are not sure how many are left, as it is difficult to count them. There are maybe only between 5,000 and 7,000 tigers in the world.

 People only find tigers in Asia and Africa. They have already disappeared from many countries. There are no longer any Caspian tigers. They died out many years ago. The living condition of tigers in other parts of Asia is also serious. There are perhaps only 100 Chinese tigers left. In southwestern Russia, the number of tigers is a little higher. There are about 450 tigers left. On some islands in Sumatra(苏门答腊) with many thick forests, there are about 500 tigers. If this situation continues, they might disappear completely.

 Why are there fewer and fewer tigers? The first reason is that tigers are meat-eaters. They need a lot of land to find enough food. Also they live in forests and people cut down many trees. Many years ago, tiger shooting was a sport, especially in India. Local people sometimes kill tigers because they kill their cows. Another reason is that Chinese people use all parts of the dead tigers for traditional Chinese medicine, including the bones(骨头) and so on. People think this medicine will make them live longer.
