We' re looking for 12 students from around the nation to be members of the TFK Kid Reporter Team for the 2022-2023 school year.
Next year's team will continue the tradition of reporting local and regional news stories for TIME FOR KIDSmagazine and timeforkids. com.
Professional journalists from TIME FOR KIDS will select this team. In the past few years, TFK kid Reporters have:
Interviewed national leaders, famous people, and other news-makers.
Written news stories, reviews and opinion pieces for TIME FOR KIDS.
Learned about the news business from award-winning journalists who work at TIME.
Appeared on television to talk about their work.
Appeared on television to give talks.
How to Enter
To apply, visit www.timeforkids. com/2022kr and complete the required fields and the official entry form (报名表). Be sure to read the official rules and share them with your parent or guardian. They MUST sign your entry form and submit it online. Entries must be submitted by June 17, 2022. You must be 14 years of age or younger on September 1, 2022.

Rhyme in Songs Dear kids, welcome to my lesson! Do you like singing or writing songs? Today we are going to learn about rhyme(押韵)in songs. What is rhyme in songs? One way to learn about a song is to look at its rhyme. Rhyming words are words that sound the same, such as cat/hat, or lying/crying. This makes the song sound nicer and more musical. How to understand rhyme in songs? When a song has rhyming words at the end of lines, these are called "end rhymes". Here is an example of end rhyme: My cat is nice. My cat likes mice. Here are three different cat songs, each with a different rhyme way. The first is AABB, the second is ABAB, and the third is ABCB):
Exercise: Sing the following song and write down the rhyme way for the song: ____. Twinkle, twinkle, little star. How I wonder what you are. Up above the world so high. Like a diamond in the sky.

If you're like me, you might already make soil for gardening from food waste and use empty paper boxes as storage space. Did you know you can apply the same way to old clothing? You just need imagination! I started upcycling clothing. Making new things out of old clothes is the best way to mix my talent and my interest. Do you upcycle? If so, what new things have you made? I'm talking about only the oldest clothing in your room—the clothes that are too old to be worn by others. The same idea goes for food waste at restaurants and supermarkets. Before upcycling food that can still be eaten, for example, using it to make soil, we should give it to those in need. | |
