A robot could understand your words and follow your instructions(指令) to do things. There're many kinds of robots. Each kind of robot has a different job.
There are waiter robots. They can clean the table and serve the dishes. Household(家庭) robots do many things at home. They lift furniture, clean the room and even do some cooking. Sales robots work as salesmen. They can sell flowers, newspapers, and many other things. Recently, a Japanese company has showed a guard dog robot. It keeps the pet dog at home. And a company puts its singing and dancing robots on show. The robots are not for sale.
In the future, we will have more robots. They will be a great help to our life. Maybe you can walk with your robot dog on the street. How interesting it will be!
The World Earth Day Activities The World Earth Day, which is on April 22 every year, is a festival specially set up for the world environmental protection. The World Earth Day was launched (发起) in 1970 by Gaylord Nelson and Dennis Hayes. Today, the World Earth Day celebration has developed to 192 countries around the world, with more than 1, 000 million people taking part in it every year, making it the largest folk environmental protection festival in the world.
Our school plans many activities to celebrate the World Earth Day. The date of our activities is on Saturday, April 24. We hope every student volunteers to take part in the activities. You can choose one thing or more to do on that day. Here is the information: ◆Save water and electricity. ◆Plant trees in the gardens or parks. ◆Clean up the parks with your classmates. ◆Go on foot instead of taking cars, buses, or taxis. ◆Hand out notices about environmental protection. ◆Go through a day without TV programs, computers, or mobile phones.
