An old man lived in a nice house with a large garden. He took care of his flowers all the time, watering and fertilizing them.

    One day a young man went by the garden. He looked at the beautiful flowers, imagining how happy he could be if he lived in such a beautiful place. Then, suddenly he found the old gardener was 1. He was very surprised about this and asked, “You can't see these flowers. Why are you busy taking care of them every day?”

    The old man smiled and said, “I can tell you four 2. First, I was a gardener when I was young, and I really like this job. Second,   3 I can't see these flowers, I can touch them. Third, I can 4 the sweetness of them. As to the last one, that's 5.”

    “Me? But you don't know me,” said the young man.

    “Yeah, it's true that I don't know you. But I know that flowers are angels(天使) that everybody 6. We enjoy the happiness these flowers have brought us.”

    The blind man's work opened our eyes and 7 our hearts, which also made his life 8. It was just like Beethoven, who became deaf in his later life and wrote many great musical works. Beethoven himself couldn't 9 his wonderful music, but his music has 10 millions of people to face their difficulties bravely. Isn't it one kind of happiness?

    As a Japanese girl called Jenny, I experienced a terrible earthquake in March, 2011. I 1 my dear father in the earthquake and my mother was ill for a long time. I lost my school and some of my classmates and teachers. I never forget that 2  time in my life.

    In October, 2011, I moved to a new school 3 Red Sun Middle School. At first I didn't want to study at all and only 4 my old classmates very much. Later, the head teacher had a long talk with my mother and he hoped I would study hard. The teachers were very 5 to me and my new classmates helped me a lot. Then I felt the warmth(温暖) in the new class. And I got good  6 in the final exam.

    On the morning of May 7th, 2012, when I came into the 7, a big birthday cake on the teacher's desk came into my eyes 8  there were four big words "Happy birthday to you!" on the blackboard. Oh, it was my thirteenth birthday. My dear head teacher 9 up to me, saying, "Happy birthday to you, Jenny. And be a happy girl. " Then my classmates surrounded(围住) me with so many colorful flowers and gifts. I couldn't say 10, and the eyes were full of moving tears. I had a great time that day. I was sure it was my happiest birthday in my life and I would never forget it.

    A school teacher decided to let her class play a game. The teacher told each child in the class to bring along a plastic bag containing a few1. Each tomato will be given a name of a person that the child2, so the number of tomatoes that a child will put in the plastic hag will depend on the number of people the child hates.

    So when the day came, every3brought some tomatoes. Some had two; some three while some up to five tomatoes. The teacher then told the children to4with them the tomatoes in the plastic5wherever they go.

    Days after days passed by, and the children started to complain due to the6smell let out by the rotten tomatoes. Besides, those having more tomatoes had to carry7bags. After 1 week, the children were relieved because the game had finally ended.

    The teacher asked, "How did you8while carrying the tomatoes with you for 19?"

    The children let out their frustrations and started10of the trouble that they had to go through having to carry the heavy and11tomatoes wherever they go.

    Then the teacher told them the hidden meaning behind the12.

"This is exactly the13when you carry your hatred(憎恨) for somebody inside your heart. The unpleasant smell of hatred will pollute your14and you will carry it with you wherever you go. If you cannot tolerate the smell of rotten tomatoes for just 1 week, can you imagine what is it like to have the smell of hatred in your heart for your lifetime?"

    So15others is that best attitude to take!

    Peter and Jack came to my house one afternoon in January, 2018. They encouraged me to try a 200-kilometre bike ride. It was an event to 1 money for disabled children. I thought the idea seemed 2 —to support the unlucky children while riding for a long distance.

    It began on a Sunday morning, and for the 3 few hours, I felt wonderful. But by the end of the day, I felt 4 and bored and really wanted to give up. Every excuse I could think of seemed to be good enough for me to give up the ride.

    "I can't continue the ride, and everyone else is a 5 rider than me." I thought and I was almost out of breath. I was sure I'd have to 6. Then I noticed that a rider in front of me looked 7 in some ways. But he was too far away for me to 8 why.

    And so I pushed myself to catch up. There he was, riding alone slowly but steadily, with a determined smile on his 9. He had only one leg!

    My focus changed at that moment. For a whole day, I was doubting my body, but now, I had the will that would help me 10 my aim.

    Once there was a girl, named Kate. She was very polite and ready to help everybody. One day she found a pink paper bag on the way to school. She opened it and saw there was a lot of1in it. She thought she should hand it in to the teacher, so she2it in her schoolbag.

    When she went to the teacher's office, her teacher wasn't3. As it was time for class, she hurried to the classroom.

    After class, she told her friend, Mary, about the money that she4. Then, her greedy (贪婪的) friend took away the bag.

    After school, Kate wanted to go to the5office again, but she found the money was missing.

    The next day when the children were playing a game, Mary fell down and was hurt very badly. The other children stood around her and didn't know6to do. Kate kept calm and did something to stop bleeding. She told the others to go to teachers for7. Soon a teacher took Mary to the8and the doctor examined her carefully. Within a week she was all right again. Kate became very popular in the school.

    Two weeks later Mary came to Kate house. Her eyes were red. She was crying. She gave Kate the9paper bag with the money in it and said. “Kate, I have taken the money away. That day when you helped me, I felt very sad and now I decide to tell you the10, you are such a nice friend!11. Please don't tell the school about this please!" then Kate said, "you are now12, but you have done a bad thing. Though I will not tell anyone, I want you not to be greedy and13to do anything wrong." The girl thanked Kate and14.

    At the end of the term Kate was given a15for being a very helpful girl in the school. Mary became an honest girl and was never greedy again.

    Once wrong, never be wrong forever.

    Frank is a small schoolboy. His school has so many rules for 1. He doesn't like any of them because he thinks they are all 2."The school asks us not to do this 3that. I'm not happy about it," He often says.

    Frank can swim. He always wants to 4how good he is at swimming. One day he comes to the lake in his school. There is a school rule about this lake: Don't 5in it! Frank doesn't like the rule and he jumps into it.
