Lisa has always been overweight. She wanted to lose weight, not just because she wanted to 1 more beautiful and healthier, but also because it would make life easier. For example, it was 2 for Lisa to find ready-made clothes that would fit. She had to ask a tailor(裁缝) to make clothes that were large enough. At school, she needed a special chair which was bigger and 3 than the other chairs. If she went for a walk, she got tired very quickly. She was also unhappy about the way people 4 her sometimes. "People look at me and even make fun of me. That's5 ! It's true that I'm overweight, but I don't think people should treat me differently because I'm big. I can't enjoy having dinner with my friends because I'm afraid of getting fatter. " Her friends and family 6 made fun of her. They tried to help her 7 . They wanted her to be happy and healthy. Sometimes when Lisa was feeling sad, she didn't want to speak to anyone.

But now things are quite different. Last month her classmates were preparing for the School 8  Week. Someone advised Lisa to play the lead role of the proud Queen(女王) who was tall and fat. Lisa 9  it and practiced a lot. 

Soon after the play, Lisa became the 10 ! She did so well that everybody remembered the proud Queen. They stood around her and said"Congratulations!"to her. She even won the School Best Actress Award for her wonderful performance.

Now Lisa doesn't worry about being fat any more. She believes in the English saying"Every dog has its day. "

Carol has been studying hard and hoping to make progress in her math. Every day she listens {#blank#}1{#/blank#} in class and does math exercises at lunch time. But her grades in the {#blank#}2{#/blank#} term were disappointing(令人失望的). "I was really sad when I {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the result. I have spent so much time {#blank#}4{#/blank#} it, but I don't know{#blank#}5{#/blank#}," she said. One of the {#blank#}6{#/blank#} feelings in the world is that you have done something hard but it doesn't work. For middle school students, it may make you{#blank#}7{#/blank#} helpless if you have studied for months but only take home disappointing grades.

Your resolution leads the way to success. This is 1 Loma tells us.

"I wish I can perform as usual, win a gold medal, "said Loma, "and 2 myself-value." After years of hard work, she finally got the 3 to compete in the world game. Loma is a lawnbowl player (草地掷球运动员). Unlike other players, she went blind because of illness. Besides, she learned this 4 at the age of 41 instead of 11. Losing her sight and a 5 start mean she needs to make more efforts than others do.

When she first started practicing lawn bowling, she couldn't find the right path. Sometimes she even walked into other players. Feeling 6 , she once packed up (打包行李) and decided to go home. But this was 7 by her teammates, who cared about her and encouraged her. Her coaches also gave her more 8 in training. Deeply moved, Loma 9 .

Jaime Deigh is a teacher at R. E. Baker Elementary School. On March 3，it was the last day of Spirit Week in this school. And all the students must 1 as their favorite superhero （超级英雄）. When Jaime arrived at the 2 ，she was happy to see fun characters （人物） like Wonder Woman and Spider﹣Man. But one student was 3 . It was her student，Caroline Carlson. Caroline wore the same clothes as her.

"Heroes don't need superpower. They're just trying to make the world a better place，" Carlson says. "Ms. Jaime is a 7 teacher. She doesn't only teach us "teacher stuff"，but also teaches us how to be kind and responsible，and how to be a good person. "

According to Ms. Jaime，this is the first time in her 19 years of 8 that one of her students has honored （尊敬） her in this way. She was so touched that she wanted to walk around the school. She also said that this kind act was telling her not to take her small. "You never know the influence （影响） that your 9 might have on a 10 . " she said.
