Bill is only fifteen years old，but he's already very rich．Two years ago，Bill began a football website（网站）for young people. "I became interested in computers when I was 8 years old  because my father's job is with computers．As a little boy，I also loved football and so I decided to make a website，especially for people of my age．"

    Bill started the "Football OK!" website two years ago，and now more than 20,000 people visit it every day．

    Bill is a schoolboy and a businessman as well．He usually gets up at six o'clock and looks at his e-mails．Then he goes to school from nine to four．In the evenings，he always works for about four hours on his website．

    Bill's next plan is a new website." At the moment I am thinking about a new website on American football，maybe for next year．"

    And is Bill the same person that he was three years ago? "'No，I am very different now．I have met a lot of interesting people on the website and I have traveled all over the world．" Bill doesn't know about the future．"Maybe I will sell the websites. I really don't know．I'll just wait and see."

    Some people say that when he is 21，Bill will be a millionaire（百万富翁). He always says, “Anything is possible”!

    Like many high school graduates, Maggie Doyne didn't go straight to college. She decided to travel and arrived in western Nepal in 2006. A war had just ended there and left many children living on the streets. They were often forced to work at hard physical jobs for little money.

One day, while walking down a country road, Doyne saw a little girl breaking up rocks. She soon learned that 7-year-old Hima sold the rocks to support her family. With deep sadness, she decided to pay Hima's tuition(学费) for school. Encouraged by the changes in the child, Doyne thought, "If we can help one child, why not 10？"

    Doyne felt that the street children's greatest need was a home. She found a piece of land for sale and bought it with $5,000 she saved from years of babysitting (当临时保姆). In 2008 the Kopila Valley Children's Home was set up. With the help from the community, another goal was reached in 2010—the Kopila Valley School. Over 350 children now attend the school and over 50 live in the home.

    Today, Doyne lives in the home and is "mum" to the kids.

    Mike is a factory worker. He is often very tired after a day's work. His wife(妻子), Jenny, has no job, so she stays at home to cook the meals. Every day he can have his dinner when he gets home from his factory.

    One day, Mike came home very late because he was very busy in the factory. He was very hungry when he got home.

    He was not happy when he found his dinner was not ready. He was very angry with his wife. He shouted out, "I'm going out to eat in a restaurant." "Wait for five minutes," said his wife. "Why? Do you think that dinner will be ready in five minutes?" asked Mike.

     "Of course not," she answered. "But I can be ready to go with you in five minutes."

    My friend's grandfather came to America from a farm in Thailand. After arriving in New York, he went into a cafeteria in Manhattan to get something to eat. He sat down at an empty table and waited for someone to take his order. Of course nobody did. Finally, a woman with a big plate full of food came up to him. She sat down opposite him and told him how a cafeteria worked.

    "Start out at that end," she said, "Just go along the line and choose what you want. At the other end they'll tell you how much you have to pay."

    "I soon learned that's how everything works in America," the grandfather told my friend later," Life's a cafeteria here. You can get anything you want as long as you want to pay the price. You can even get success but you'll never get it if you wait for someone to bring it to you. You have to get up and get it yourself."

    Jerry has a happy family — his parents, his sister and he. They live in a small town, and it is not far from the city.

    One day, Jerry goes to a shopping centre in the city to buy a new pair of trousers. There are too many people in the shop, so he doesn't want to try them on there.

    He goes back home and tries on the trousers in his bedroom. They are too long for him and he wants to ask his mother or sister to shorten (剪短) them for him. When he goes to his mother, she is cooking lunch and doesn't have any time to help him. He goes to his sister, but she is washing clothes and shoes. "The new trousers are too long. Can you help me to shorten them five centimetres?" His mother and sister are busy, and they don't say anything. Jerry goes out to fly kites with his classmates.

    Jerry's father is not busy, so he helps his son to shorten the trousers and plays computer games again in the study. When his mother finishes cooking, she goes to Jerry's bedroom and helps him to shorten the trousers five centimetres, too. But she doesn't tell her daughter about it and goes out.

    After an hour, Jerry's sister remembers her brother's trousers. So she goes quietly into the room and also helps her brother to shorten the trousers five centimetres.

I like taking {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (photo) very much. Once I traveled by ship {#blank#}2{#/blank#} a cloudy morning. In the afternoon, the weather turned fine, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} I wanted to take some photos. I was looking around and I saw next to me a lovely little girl {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (sit) on her father's shoulders. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} was lucky for me to meet such a perfect moment—the girl {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (smile) and the surrounding view was beautiful. Without thinking, I took a picture of the little girl at that moment.

Her mother was surprised that a {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (strange) was photographing her daughter. I explained that I {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (move) by that sight and showed them {#blank#}9{#/blank#} photo on my digital camera. They loved it very much. I said I could email it to them when I got home. Finally, they gave me their email address. The next day, I sent them their {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (daughter) photo as I had promised.

This morning I received a message back saying they are grateful and that they are very happy with the lovely photo of their daughter and a lovely memory of the day.
