My name is Jim White. I 1 a schoolboy. My school is 2 my home. Every day, it takes me 3 to get there. The road is not 4. So I can't go to school 5. I often get there by bus or 6. It takes me thirty 7 to get there by bus and an hour on foot. I must get up very early every morning. I have no time 8 breakfast at home. I often have something for breakfast 9 or on the bus. I don't want to 10 school. So sometimes I run to school.

One day, two 1 were walking along the road to school when they saw an old woman carrying a large basket of pears. They thought the woman looked very 2. They went up to her and said, "Are you going to town? If you are, we will help carry your basket."

    "Thank you," 3 the woman, " you are very kind. You see I'm weak and ill." Then she told them that she was now going to market to 4 the pears which grew on the only tree in her little garden.

    On 1 1st, Mike decided to play a joke on his friend. At lunchtime he said to Tom, "I think we're going to have a science test(测验) this afternoon."

    "A test?" said Tom. "Really?"

    "Yes, it's quite 2." said Mike. "When I was passing by Mr. Hill's room, he was talking with 3 teacher about test. I think there will 4 a science test this afternoon. Tell Bob and Kate about it."

    "My glove!" Father takes it. "Thank you, dear!"
