One rainy morning, my phone woke me up. It was a phone call from a1 driver who had my friend's mobile phone. 2 , my friend had left it in the taxi the night before.

 A 3morning for taxi drivers in this big city is a very busy time. He asked me where he could meet me to give me the mobile phone. I told him the street where I lived. Then I quickly 4and got dressed in order to meet   5 on the corner.

 My friend had only recently moved to this city. So his mobile phone was very  6 to him.

 When the taxi driver arrived, I thanked him and praised him  7 having such a kind and beautiful heart. I asked him for his name,  8 my friend himself could thank him. He said my praises and 9 were all that he needed. Then he drove off.

    Accept life as it is. I learned how to do it from my father. 1 , he did not teach me acceptance when he was strong and healthy, but rather when he was 2 and ill.

    Rudi Matt lived in a small village in the Swiss Apls in 1865. What he wanted most in the world was to climb the1peak(山峰) in the Alps, Rudi's mother and his uncle, Franz, a mountain guide, wanted him to stop climbing and start working in a hotel. Rudi would not2his dream and secretly got in touch with an English mountain climber who was planning to climb the highest peak.

    Franz was very3when he found out what Rudi had done, but he finally agreed to let Rudi go if he went climbing too. Franz also didn't want Emil Saxo, a guide from another village, to go to the top4him.

    Rudi turned out to be a very good climber, but as they got close to the top, the Englishman got sick and could not go farther. Franz stayed behind to take care of him, but Saxo continued, wishing to be the5to the top. Rudi went after Saxo, hoping to beat him to the top. When they met, Saxo fought with Rudi and fell down by accident. Saxo was helpless and hurt. Rudi must6whether to carry Saxo back down to safety or to continue alone to the top.

    He decided Saxo's life was more important than his dream and helped him down.

    During that time, the Englishman and Franz continued the climb, and finally they reached the top. Later, when they returned to the village, they told people that Rudi was the real conqueror(征服者) of the mountain.

    A man got a new car and he was very proud of it. One day, when he came back home, he saw his three-year-old son happily hitting the new car with a toy 1. He broke off the paint on the car. The man was so 2 that he ran to his son, took away his hammer (锤子) from him, and used the hammer to hit the boy's 3 as hard as he could for punishment. The poor boy cried 4 but his father didn't care at all.

    When the father calmed down, he took his son to the 5 as soon as he could. Although the doctor tried to save the broken bones, he had to 6 the fingers from both of the boy's hands in the end.

    When the boy 7 in the hospital and saw his hands, he innocently (天真地) said, "Daddy, I'm sorry about your car." Then he asked, "But when are my fingers going to grow back?" The father felt very sad and regretted this very much.

    Think about this story when someone steps (踩) 8 your feet and you want to argue (争吵) with him. Think first before you 9 your patience with someone. Cars can be broken, 10 bones and hurt feelings often can't. So always remember: excusing is greater than argument and think before you act!
