How important is your appearance? Although everyone wants to be good-looking, are beautiful people always happier people? For example, it must be a problem to be a really beautiful woman, because some people may be more interested in looking at you than talking to you. They think of you as a picture rather than a person.

    Some people think that women who are exceptionally(格外地) pretty and men who are particularly handsome must be stupid. They believe that only unattractive(无魅力的) people can be intelligent(智慧的).

    On the other hand, no one wants to be really ugly, and have a face that even your mother doesn't want to look at; and no one wants to be plain, either--that is, to be neither attractive nor unattractive, and have a face that is easily forgotten. Being attractive is like being rich. It can help you find happiness, but it doesn't always make you happy.

    So maybe the best thing is not to worry too much about how you look, but simply try to be an interesting person. For interesting people have interesting faces, and interesting faces are almost always attractive.

In the summer vacation, I took a trip to Beijing with my brother. My brother was 18 years old and was in Grade 3 of high school. He knew a lot about the history of Beijing. He told me a lot about it and helped me know more about Beijing and our country on this trip. 

We went to the Palace Museum on the first day. We learnt more about our history. We bought some gifts there—a book for my sister Lily, a T-shirt for my father and a bag for my mother. And we bought some cards.

My brother was interested in universities(大学) in Beijing and wanted to study in one of them. So we visited the universities in Beijing in the next two days. We had a good time walking by the lake in Peking University. 

On the fourth day, we went to the Great Wall. It was beautiful and there were a lot of people. On the fifth day, we went shopping, tasted much delicious food and went boating in the Summer Palace. The sixth day was a rainy day, and we didn't go out. 

We spent six days in Beijing from 19th July to 24th July. We were very happy and got a lot from the trip. 

①Recently, artificial intelligence (AI) has been making waves in the art world. AI image- making tools such as Midjourney and DALL-E 2 can now make amazing digital(数码的) paintings. How do they work?

②For DALL-E 2, the AI is fed huge collections of artworks. The program finds patterns(模式) in the pictures and, after a while, learns which features (特征) are important, such as people, animals, objects, styles, or colors. Then it can produce images that keep the key features and produce a good result. The app produces a lot of images at the same time but chooses the most accurate(准确的) ones for the user to choose from. 

③These days, anyone can go online or download an app to produce their own AI art. Just give the program a few key words and choose a style, and it will create a digital painting in the style you want. This means that anyone can now create art, even if they don't know how to paint. 

④Not everyone is happy about the growth of AI- generated (生成的) art. To some, it isn't art at all because AI depends on learning from only the information it is given. The AI isn't creating on its own. However, others think that AI is the same as humans and it is no different from any other artist. 

⑤Some people also say that AI art has no value because it is too easy. It isn't created step- by- step by a human. Yet the same is true of photography. Just as artists of an earlier age welcomed photography, some artists today are using AI to create unique works of art. These artists find that they have to work together with the AI in exploring and experimenting — it isn't simple at all!

⑥At the heart of this debate(辩论) is an important question: Will AI replace human artists, or will humans learn to use AI as a tool to create great art? Only time will tell. 

This summer my family went on a trip to Stockholm. 

Before the trip, we booked {#blank#}1{#/blank#} hotel room in the city centre. When we arrived in Stockholm, we {#blank#}2{#/blank#} （take）a bus to the hotel. Then we went out for dinner. We saw trees and flowers everywhere on the way to the restaurant. We felt like we were in a big forest. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} a lovely city! 

The next day we visited the Vasa Museum. It's home to an old ship—the Vasa. Nothing was {#blank#}4{#/blank#} （exciting）than it for my son, because visiting museums is {#blank#}5{#/blank#}（he）favourite. There were many visitors in front of the museum. We waited {#blank#}6{#/blank#} a long time and felt a little tired. But {#blank#}7{#/blank#} we went into the museum, we were all surprised. The ship looked very cool and beautiful. Then we took quite a few photos. 

The third day we went to a park in Stockholm. Lots of people were in the park. My son played with some {#blank#}8{#/blank#} （child）there. I talked with their parents. My husband watched a chess game. I thought it was the best way {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（feel）Stockholm! 

It was a really {#blank#}10{#/blank#}（relax）trip. We all had a good time.
