I had a summer camp with my classmates last year. 

Early in the morning, we gathered(集合) at the bus station. After saying goodbye to our parents, we got on the buses. It took us more than two hours to arrive at the campground. 

We got off the buses cheerfully. Laughing and shouting, we jumped and ran all over the place. It was the first time for us to be away from the parents. Some of us started to feel homesick(想家的). However, when the night party and dances began, the homesickness was gone. 

The next day, everyone rushed to the boating class, hoping to be at the head of the others. At first, my friends and I worked hard, but the boat wouldn't listen to us and kept going round and round. Then the teacher taught us how to work together. After many tries, we did much better, 

Swimming class was my favourite. It was about the hottest time of a day and the best time to stay in the cool water. The swimming teacher was a funny man, and during the class he often made us laugh happily. 

During the week I learnt a lot of new things and made many new friends. I also learnt how to take care of myself.

My Summer Holiday Plan

Summer holiday is coming.

Chinese writer Mo Yan has won the 2012 Nobel Prize in Literature（文学）. He is the first Chinese to win the prize. 

Mo Yan was born into a farmer's family in Shandong in 1955. He left school to work at the age of twelve, first on the farm, later in a factory. In 1976 he joined the PLA and during this time he began to study writing. His first short story was published in 1981. he has written many famous books about his childhood and his hometown. Many of his books have been translated into English

Mo Yan's winning of the Nobel Literature Prize, widely regarded as a great encouragement for China's literature, is bringing more confidence to the nation's young authors. 

①Many people think wheat straw（麦秸） is the waste on the farm. However, Wu Cui, a straw plaiting （ 草 编） artist from Helan County, Ningxia, can turn straw into eye-catching artworks.

②Wu, 29, is the sixth-generation inheritor（第六代继承人） of straw plaiting. Learning from her uncle, Wu made things with straw when she was a child. She made the straw-plaiting her job after she finished college three years ago.

③Before plaiting straw, Wu usually spends a long time finding the right straw. Then she ties them up and dries them. Also, Wu needs to put the straw in warm water so that the straw won't break easily. Choosing from materials is the first step. And then Wu needs to sketch（素描） the piece on paper, which requires drawing skills. Next comes the weaving（编织） , shaping and finally the preserving of the work.

④"In the past, we could see straw products（制品） everywhere in the countryside, such as straw hats and straw shoes. But the world has changed. There are so many things for people to choose from. So we need to find other ways to share the art with people," Wu says.

⑤When asked about her plans, Wu says she wants to di g deeper into the traditional culture and make more creative（有创造力的） works.

As the main guitarist(吉他手) in our music club, Li Nan has a deep love for music. With big dreams, Li didn't just want to play other people's {#blank#}1{#/blank#}( song). He wanted to compose(创作) his own music.

One day, he had a good idea and decided to try making his own music with his guitar. In the . {#blank#}2{#/blank#}( begin), he was not very good at it. He had a hard time and faced many difficulties, but he didn't give {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. Instead, he worked hard er than before to learn and practice.

However, he got{#blank#}6{#/blank#} big trouble one day. He {#blank#}7{#/blank#}( break) his friend's guitar, and this guitar was expensive. As a result, he has to compose music for others to make money. Luckily, someone loved his music and paid for his service. {#blank#}8{#/blank#}( final), he made enough money and bought a new guitar for his friend. Li Nan was great. He was brave to face his mistake and try to make things right.
