In China, students go to school in many ways. Some students go by bus, some go by bike and some walk to school. Do you know how Japanese students usually go to school?

In the city, students usually go to school near their homes, so many students walk to school. It usually takes them 10 to 20 minutes to get to school. But in the village, schools are usually far from students' homes. It usually takes them 40 minutes to an hour to walk to school. Many students in the village go to school by train, because the train goes quickly and doesn't need much time.

Many Japanese schools are small but nice. And students seldom(很少) take the school bus. Parents also seldom drive their children to and from school. Sometimes children walk to school with their friends living near them. To make sure of their security, some kind people will help children cross the road when there are lots of cars on the road.

In a field in England, three little robots have been given a great job: to find and kill grass before planting seeds (种子) in the soil.

The robots are named Tom, Dick and Harry. Tom is the first of the three clever robots to start working. He watches the crops (庄稼) carefully and collects the information about each plant. He can create a short introduction to each plant and even make decisions on what chemicals are needed for your crops.

Dick does the dirty work. He can go to each plant that is doing bad to the crops and take it out. Plants that are good for the crops are left. He can force small drops of chemicals out of a bottle or something to cover plants in order to keep them healthy.

Harry is a planter. He digs holes into the field and puts seeds into the ground, and records where he puts them. If a seed doesn't grow, he can easily travel there and plants a new seed.

The smart robots are made by Small Robot. The British company says farmers could reduce costs by 40% and chemical usage by up to 95%. The little robots allow farmers to free their soils from chemicals. Using less chemicals is going to save much money and is good for the environment. As well as reducing the use of chemicals, robots will bring us better soil quality and more plants and animals.

"We have to change farming now, or else there won't be anything to farm," says Small Robot.

Plants are more than just pretty to look at. They give us fruits, vegetables and food we eat. Some plants even provide materials for medicine or building things. But do you know that plants can do something even more amazing? They can make our homes, schools and workplaces much healthier. we spend a large part of our day indoors. Unluckily, the air inside buildings can often be full of chemicals(化学物质)from many things around us. This poor ap quality(质量) can make us feel sick，causing sore eyes and throats, and even making it hard for us to breathe. When the air inside buildings gets really bad, people even call them"sick buildings". 

The good news is that plants are like nature's little superheroes. They have a magic power fighting against bad air. Plants breathe in carbon dioxide( CO2) and breathe out oxyen ( 02) which we humans need to live. They can also add moisture to the air if it's too dry, making it more comfortable for us to breathe. 

    ▲    Scientists have discovered that plants have the ability to take in harmful chemicals, making the air around us safer to breathe. They set up a completely closed building called "bio-home" for experiments. Before they added plants, the air inside was full of chemicals and people found it hard to breathe. But after they added plants, the air got much cleaner and it became easier to breathe. To make the air inside even better, the scientists used different kinds of plants. After a while, the building wasn't a"sick building"any more. People could go inside without feeling unwell. 

So you see, plants are fantastic! They are not only beautiful to look at, but they also provide us with food, help create materials and play an important role in our health. They make our indoor environments cleaner and healthier, making us feel better. Next time you see a plant, remember all the amazing things it can do for us!

Paris is a city with many historic buildings. But do you know that the most famous historic building in Paris is not really old at all? It's just over 100 years old. You'll find that's a spring chicken if you compare it with the Palace of Versailles. It's said that the Palace of Versailles has a history of over 300 years. Well, the building I mean is the Eiffel Tower. 

The Eiffel Tower was named after an engineer(工程师) called Gustave Eiffel. Gustave Eiffel's company built it between the years 1887 and 1889. 

When people think of Paris, they first think of this 330-metre tower. Every year, nearly seven million people visit the Eiffel Tower. It was the world's tallest building until the US finished building the Empire State Building about 40 years later. 

Here are a few facts about the Eiffel Tower. The tower has three levels for visitors, with restaurants on the first and second levels. If you walk to the second floor, you will climb 674 steps. Gustave Eiffel's company had a permit(许可证) for the tower to stand for twenty years. But as the tower was valuable for communication purposes, the city decided to keep it. 

Now it's a symbol of Paris. It's impossible to think of Paris without thinking of this great man-made wonder. 

I like fishing with my parents at the weekend. But my friends always ask me, "How can you sit with   your parents for hours like that?"{#blank#}1{#/blank#} I just smile.

 Last Sunday, I went fishing with my parents by a river. They sat far away from me. I threw some bait(饵) into the river and sat down to watch my float(浮子). Suddenly, I saw it move. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} After an hour I still didn't catch a fish, so I went to see my mom and dad. I thought they might be luckier than me.

{#blank#}3{#/blank#}"Let' s fish together," Dad said. "Maybe we' ll be lucky later." I got my things and sat down beside them. We started to have a chat. I told them some interesting things that happened in school. We talked and laughed for the rest of the day. Soon the sun started to set. We didn't have any fish, but we had a great day. I knew my parents better.

 On the way home, I told Mom that I wanted to have fish for dinner. "That's a good idea. We can buy one at the market," she said. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} At that moment, I realized how much my parents loved me.
