Asking for advice can be scary？In a recent study，74 percent said they were afraid to ask for advice. But people who ask for advice are easier to succeed at a task. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Here are a few tips. 

{#blank#}2{#/blank#} It might be easy to ask all people around you for advice at once，but will you value all advice？Probably not. It might be better to choose one or two people whose opinions you value the most. You can ask for advice from people who have experience in the topic. 

Think about when to ask. Finding the right time to ask for advice is important. If what you are asking needs a lot of thought，you should ask people when they are free and clear﹣headed. 

Be specific（具体的） in your questioning. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Do you ask a business owner"What advice do you have for me？"No，because it's not specific enough. Instead，try asking

Ask somebody for a second opinion. If you can't solve your problem by following the first person's advice，why not ask someone else who may have a different opinion？

Do you know World Book Day? It is on April 23rd every 1 . Many countries 2 it. On that day, in the UK, students can 3 books at a special price (价格). There is a discount (折扣) in 4 kinds of books.

In China, we also celebrate World Book Day. Some people are 5 , but they still do a lot of reading and they encourage (鼓励) young people to 6 more books. "Books can't 7 the world, but people can change the world by changing themselves if they often read" they said.

In our school, we celebrate World Book Day, too. We have a Reading Week. The 8 and students read lots of books. Some of 9 are from our homes. We 10 them with each other.

Once upon a time, there was a kind of bird called" dodo". {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(实际上), we can only see them in {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(博物馆) now. 

In the old days, they lived on an island in the Indian Ocean. There was {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(大量) of food for them to eat. All the animals on the island were {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(友好的) to each other. They lived a {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(和平的) and safe life there. 

However, humans {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(到达) on the island in 1598. They cut down trees and destroyed(破坏) the homes of animals. People {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(猎杀) the birds easily because they were slow and couldn't fly. As a result, the birds soon {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(死亡) out. So today, we can't see them in the real world. 

The world is {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(满是......的) of {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(极好的) animals. We should try our best to protect them and help them. 

Wild animals are important to us. They live together with us on the earth. If there are no animals on the earth, we will not live on either. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

But some people still don't know the importance of protecting them. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}Every day there are many wild animals being killed. So lots of wild animals have died out. We can't see them any more.

Today wild animals are becoming less and less. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} If this goes on, there will be no animals left on the earth in the future. 

Luckily, many people began to know the importance of protecting wild animals. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} They teach others about the importance of protecting wild animals. Now many countries have made some laws (法律) to protect wild animals and to stop people from killing them. 

{#blank#}5{#/blank#} We should do our best to protect them because protecting them is protecting ourselves too. 

"May we all blessed with longevity. Though miles apart, we are still able to share the beauty of the moon together (但愿人长久, 千里共婵娟)", wrote Su Shi, a poet during the Song Dynasty, in his well- known poem to his younger brother Su Zhe. 

The moon is at its brightest on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar (阴历). On this day, people celebrate Mid- Autumn Festival. 

In ancient China, that day was a harvest festival because crops (庄稼) were harvested during that period (时期). It was a time for relaxation and celebration. 

The Mid- Autumn has its own special food just as other traditional Chinese holidays. People eat moon cakes with fillings such as sugar and eggs. The round shape of the cake makes it look like the full moon. The full moon and moon cakes stand for family reunion (团聚). 

With the beautiful moon up in the sky, people sit together, enjoy the full moon, eat moon cakes and fruits, share the stories, and express the best wishes for the family members and friends who live far away. 

I felt coming steps. She was coming to teach all things to me, and to love me. 

I still remember the morning my teacher came, she led me into her room and gave me a doll (玩具娃娃). When I had played with it a little while, Miss Sullivan slowly spelled into my hand the word "d-o-l-l". I was at once interested in this finger play and tried to imitate (模仿) it. When I succeeded in making the letters correctly, I was so excited and proud. I did not know I was spelling, even didn't understand everything has a name. 

 Once, as I was playing with my new doll, Miss Sullivan put my old doll onto my leg, spelled"d-o-l-l" and tried to make me understand they were both dolls. Another time, she tried to tell me that"m-u-g" is mug and that"w-a-t-e-r" is water, but I still mixed them up. Hopelessly, she had to teach me from the beginning.  ▲ , so I threw the new doll upon the floor. 

I was quite happy when I felt the pieces of the broken doll at my feet. I was neither sad nor regretful. In my still, dark world, there was no warmth or love. I felt my teacher sweep the pieces aside, and it seemed that my trouble moved away. 

Later, we walked down the path to a well house. Someone was drawing water(抽水) and she placed my hand under the spout. As the cool stream flowed over one hand, she spelled the word"w-a-t-e-r" into the other, first slowly, then rapidly. I stood still and paid my whole attention on her fingers. Suddenly I knew "w-a-t-e-r" meant the wonderful thing flowing over my hand. That living word awakened my soul, gave it light, hope, joy, and set it free!

I left the well house and wanted to learn more about the world. As we returned to the house, I remembered the doll I had broken. I picked up the pieces and tried to put them together. Then I cried, for I realised what I had done, and for the first time I felt sad and regretful. 

I learned many new words that day. I do not remember what they all were, but I do know that mother, father, sister and teacher were among them. It would have been difficult to find a happier child than I was. While lying in my bed at the end of that day, I hoped for a new day to come for the first time.
