    I'm a senior high school student.

    Did you go somewhere for your Spring Festival holiday? Did you get lost in the crowds and become one of hundreds or thousands of people crammed together in front of a building, a landscape, a bridge or even a painting? This is what we call "overtourism"—the phenomenon of a popular destination or sight becoming overrun with tourists in an unsustainable way.

    Overtourism occurs when there are too many visitors to a particular destination. ^"Too many" is a subjective term, of course, but it is defined in each destination by local residents, hosts, business owners and tourists. When rent prices push out local tenants to make way for holiday rentals, that is overtourism. When narrow roads become jammed with tourist vehicles, that is overtourism. When wildlife is scared away, when tourists cannot view landmarks because of the crowds, when fragile environments become degraded—these are all signs of overtourism.

    These years, the travel industry focuses almost exclusively on growth, with little or no concern for the impacts. In many destinations, tourism now demonstrably creates more problems than benefits. This can take many forms; perhaps a million additional tourists are arriving in a capital city, or 20 additional tourists in a small, rural community.

    And whenever you travel, try and ensure as much of your cash stays as local as possible. Pay national park entrance fees to ensure your visit supports conservation; stay in locally owned guesthouses; eat at local restaurants and take tours with local guides. Tourism can still be very much a force for good, and ensuring that local residents, habitats and wildlife benefit from your presence is an important part of that.

    On August 25, 2019, a series of graded English books, "Tales of China", were published in Shanghai the main theme of which is Chinese culture.

    The series contain 16 books as well as 100 audio frequencies. There are 75 stories about Chinese festivals, idioms, folk legends and fairy tales in the series, including 240 beautiful illustrations. The series help Chinese children improve their reading, listening and speaking abilities dramatically.

    Contrary to the current practice that many similar books are written by Chinese writers and translated by foreigners, the series were compiled by world-famous children literature experts from 7 countries. The purpose is to interpret Chinese culture in authentic English on a global scale. Grandpa Cecil Rodgers has narrowly escaped a phone scam (欺骗). It all began with a telephone call…

Cecil is an elderly man from Cincinnati, Ohio, who was looking forward to spending time with his family over the holidays. They were all coming to visit him at his Elmwood Place home, including his adult grandson David. One afternoon, while napping in bed, he was awakened by the sharp ringing of his telephone.

"Who will ring me up at this time?" He wondered. Peering towards the phone, he hesitantly picked it up. From the receiver came an urgent voice. "Grandpa, this is David. I am in trouble." Before Cecil could ask him any question, he continued, on and off, half crying, "I hit a woman's car and she was seven months pregnant. And they charged me with drunken driving and I'm in prison..." He sobbed loudly. His voice was so broken that Cecil could hardly match it with the gentle and warm voice of his grandson. Poor David! He must be suffering! Cecil panicked immediately.

Without more detailed communication, the phone passed suddenly to another person— David's lawyer who had a deeper voice. Seemingly, he understood Cecil's anxiety and attempted to comfort him with a solution. "Now the only way to help David is to go to Wal-Mart and transfer $2,300 to another store. I would pick up the money and then use it to post David's bail (保释金)." "I am sure everything would be OK as long as the money is in place," he added. Ultimately, he lowered his voice, "Don't tell anybody. You don't want to make your grandson look ugly in your neighborhood." The lawyer hung up even before Cecil could give an answer.

The lucky part of Cecil's day was when he stepped into cashier (收银员) Audrella's line in Wal-Mart.

I pulled my exhausted (精疲力竭的) body off the bed and headed out the door. Put one foot in front of the other. That is all you have to do, I told myself. I was determined (决定) to make myself walk every hour for five minutes, regardless of how terrible I felt — it would help me feel better.

My husband and I had been told by my doctor, Tiffany, that my coping strategies needed to change to effectively manage my fatigue (极度劳累). Walking was a key part of my hoped-for change. Cancer had taken so much from me, and it was time to start working my way back. With that goal in mind, I set out into my yard and began walking.

At our second meeting, Tiffany helped us set long-term goals. One of my goals was a day at a theme park, walking instead of using a wheelchair. After our meeting, I carried on with my step challenge. As the weeks progressed, I began meeting other program goals, but I still had the theme park to conquer. It frightened me to risk a whole day on my feet.

The day finally came, and we went to SeaWorld. As we walked into the park, the sun was shining. Over the speakers, Rachel Platten's "Fight Song" played. "This is my fight song, take back my life song ..." she sang. Tears glistened (闪光) on my face, and my husband looked at me with concern. Our teenage daughter saw the worry in his eyes and looked at me. When we shared a knowing smile, my daughter said, "Don't worry, Dad. That's Mom's song."

In the early days of this cancer journey, she had left something at home after leaving for school and had found me balled up in bed, crying from the pain, with "Fight Song" on repeat. I told her it was my "fight song" and I would be fine finally. She gave me a hug before returning to her father's waiting truck. Clearly, she hadn't told him about that.
