Cinyee Chiu, an artist from Taiwan, is always happy to try something new. Her amazing works won lots of prizes. Among them, "24 Solar Terms (节气)" is the most popular.

Ancient Chinese divided a year into 24 parts according to the changes of the weather. It's the 24 solar terms. But not everyone knows them well. Cinyee Chiu put the 24 solar terms in pictures to help people understand them better.

Cinyee turned each solar term into an animal. But these animals are not just animals. You can also find seasonal fruits, vegetables or beautiful flowers on them.

When spring comes, water gets warm and fish start to swim around. So Cinyee chose fish as a symbol of Start of Spring. Also, she drew spring vegetables, Chinese chives (韭菜) on the back of the fish.

White Dew (露珠) falls on about Sept. 8. It shows the beginning of the cool autumn. There are colorful leaves and cooler nights at this time of year. As the temperature falls, white dew is often seen on the grass and trees at night. For White Dew, Cinyee chose a raccoon (浣熊)—a small animal with thick hair. She drew white spots (小圆点) on the raccoon to show dew. And she used the dragon fruit to show the rich colors in autumn.

The young artist really gave the ancient Chinese culture a new look.

How do you go to work? Ride a bike? Take a bus? Take a car? Swim across river? In the city of Xishan, the Bingjiang river has become a famous swimming place, because some people swim along with their own things in the river to go to work.

To get from point A to point B, people in Xishan don't just swim with their clothes on, but instead pack (打包) their own things into the special bag. This bag will keep everything dry until they reach their destinations (目的地).

"I use 5 minutes walking from my home to the river. And I only use 10 minutes to swim across the river and 5 minutes to walk to my office. I have a special swim bag which I can put all my things in. But I used one hour to go to work by bus before." Li Hua, a local says.

The traditional traffic tools like cars and buses not only cause heavy traffic but also produce too much pollution in our daily life. Maybe it's time for us to change our ways to go to work.

Too many Americans watch too much television. Americans maybe watch more TV than any other people in the world. This is not a good thing. Because of TV, Americans are getting too heavy and spend less time with their friends.

Many American students watch TV between twenty and sixty hours a week! That is very bad for their study. When they watch too much TV, they have less time for exercise, their study and sleep. Most people who watch a lot of TV eat food at the same time. This is very bad because they eat too much and become too heavy.

It is better to watch just a little bit of TV a day. Thirty minutes to one hour is enough. If you have much free time, it is a good idea to read a book, play sports or spend time with your friends and families. Studying is also a good way to spend your free time.

"We like to go to eat in fast food restaurants, but children only play with the plastic toys for a few minutes before they throw them away. In the end, they will harm animals and pollute the sea. We want anything they give us to be sustainable(可持续的), so we can protect the earth for us and for future humans, " they continued. The letter made a large number of readers pay attention to them. The number of people who supported them almost double d after reporters followed the two little girls. 

Since the little girls'story started being picked up by news reporters, the fast food restaurants had to give a reply to the newspaper office, telling about their plans for making their free toys more sustainable.
