So far, China has successfully sent a large number of satellites(卫星)and spaceships into space. Space scientists have been greatly inspired by the old stories and ancient famous people when giving them names. 

Since thousands of years ago, Chinese people have dreamed of going to the moon. Chang'e Flies to the Moon is one of the most popular stories. As you can see, China's first man-made satellite to circle around the moon was named Chang'e I. More interestingly, the moon rover( 巡 视器)was named after the Jade Rabbit(玉兔), who is the partner of Chang'e in the story. These old stories carry people's best wishes and dreams. With the development of science and technology, our scientists have made them come true. 

Kua Fu Runs After the Sun is another story to show how much ancient Chinese people

wanted to know about the unknown world. Now, Kua Fu is going with the scientists to"visit"the sun, because we have a space project called KuaFu Mission. 

Besides the ancient stories, space scientists also get ideas from ancient famous people. For example, Mozi, an ancient scientist, discovered that light travels in a straight line over 2, 000 years ago. His discovery made space study take a big step at that time. So, China's first quantum(量子) science satellite was named Mozi, making China the first country in the world to achieve quantum communication between satellites and the ground. 

From such simple things as giving names to the satellites, we can see how great our traditional culture is and what influence it has on our modern science and technology. 

In China, people's living conditions in the cities have changed a lot in the ways of transport in the past fifty years. A survey shows that the number of people riding a bike or walking is always decreasing. In 1974, more than 50% of people travelled to work on their own bikes, while by 2014, less than 20% of travellers preferred cycling or walking to work. Now the number becomes much smaller. 

At the same time, there was a large increase in the use of cars. In 1974, very few people had a car. By 1994, about a quarter of travellers drove to work. This increased again, until 2014, about one third of travellers drove to work. 

 ▲  The main reason is that people's living conditions have changed greatly. With the increasing number of people going by bus or car, fewer and fewer people would like to be cyclists or walkers. 

As people enjoyed the convenience and speed of buses and cars, they are less likely to have patience and interest in cycling and walking. In the future, with the development of science and technology, more changes will happen in people's everyday lives. 

Teaching kids gently

Students discuss whether it is right for strangers to educate others' kids. 

Recently, during a flight, a toddler (刚学走路的小孩) kept crying, and two strangers took her to the bathroom and locked her in there for "education". This led to a heated discussion. Examples like South Korea's "no-kids zones (区域)" and reminders (提示语) for parents on high-speed trains show how the public reacts to crying children. How do you feel about strangers "educating" noisy young children?

I think it's not OK for strangers to educate the children of others. Sometimes, children can be naughty and might shout in public. This can be annoying and make us want to step in. But from the child's point of view, a stranger stepping in and shouting at them can be scary. It can also hurt children's feelings. Parents can also feel stressed when their children disturb (打扰) other passengers, but they might not know what to do. Sometimes children cry to draw others' attention because they can't express their needs well. So as strangers, it's best to kindly remind parents to look after their kids and check if they are hungry or unwell.

Instead of strangers, parents should be the ones teaching their children how to behave properly. I believe many passengers "dislike children" not because of the children's behavior, but because they really can't stand their parents' attitude. As children grow up, it is normal for them to make mistakes and disturb others without meaning to because they are too small to understand so much information. What is really scary is that parents turn a blind eye to their children's mistakes, use "he is just a kid" as an excuse and force others to tolerate (容忍) their children. If a child really does something that disturbs others, then the parents should say sorry and solve the problem.
