Memories about Teachers

    Recently we made a survey (调查)and asked a large number of people to tell us about their teachers. Here is what they remembered about their teachers:

    "What teachers do I remember? Well, I remember my first teacher. She was so kind and pretty, and she told us many interesting stories."

    "I remember an English teacher . he always had colored socks: red, green, even orange,"

    "I remember a math teacher. She was always dressed very well. I couldn't stop looking at her. I wanted to be like her."

    "Our chemistry teacher. He was so strict. We were afraid of him. I don't think he liked us."

    "The physics teacher was so boring. He could make us fall asleep very quickly."

    "One year we had a really good Chinese language teacher. He was very patient and told very funny stories. He was popular with all the class. We always worked hard for him. We are his friends,"

    "The P.E. teacher always said I was stupid. I thought teachers should give us encouragement. I am not interested in sports because of him."

    "I had one history teacher who always wore clothes of the same color. In three years I never saw him change."

    "I remember two teachers well. One was my music teacher who was very active, and usually had a loud voice. The other was my computer teacher, who was very serious, but here ally helped me when I had problems at any time."

    Welcome to England! The weather of England is very changeable. It can be rainy, sunny, cloudy, windy, warm, foggy or cold at any time of year. If it's raining when you get up in the morning, it can be hot and dry by the afternoon. The west of England is wetter than the east, and the north is cooler than the south. Just be ready for any kind of weather.  

    In England, shops are usually open from 9: 00 in the morning to 5: 30 in the afternoon. On Sundays some shops are open from 10: 00 a. m. to 4: 00 P. m. But a lot of shops are closed. Banks, museums or other places are open from 10: 00 a. m to 5: 00 P. m. You can go to the parks at any time.

    All the cities have buses, trains and taxis. People wait in line for buses and they are unhappy if you push in at the front. Don't forget this--traffic goes on the left. Be careful!

A. Have him or her lie with feet lifted a little.

B. Wash the bite area with soap and water.

C. Pinch (捏) the lower part of the nose for at least 10 minutes.

D. Use an ice pack（袋）.

E. Clean the person's face with a cool cloth.

    What should we do if one of our classmates suddenly falls ill or gets hurt? Here are some steps you should follow. But always remember to look for medical care after first aid(急救)if the wound is serious.

    Broken bones(骨头): Take away clothing from the wound{#blank#}1{#/blank#} Don't move the hurt body part while waiting for the doctor to arrive.

    Animal bites(咬伤):{#blank#}2{#/blank#}Pack （拧紧）the wound with a clean cloth if it is bleeding（出血）. If the bleeding has stopped, cover the area with a bandage and take the person to the hospital. Make sure you remember what kind of animal it is so the doctor can find the right way to treat him or her at once.

    Fainting(昏厥):{#blank#}3{#/blank#} Don't move the body if you think there might be wounds from the fall. Make sure he or she can breathe and let in fresh air.{#blank#}4{#/blank#}

Nosebleeds(流鼻血): Have the person sit up with his or her head tilted(倾斜)forward a little. Do not have the person tilt his or her head back because this may cause heavy breathing or coughing.{#blank#}5{#/blank#}

    Last weekend, I took a trip to the popular National Air and Space Museum. I found that lots of children all over the place were happy. If ever in my life I felt like a child again, this was surely the place.

    As I went into the cockpit(驾驶舱)of an airplane, I felt that my dream of becoming a pilot came true. Everywhere I walked, I was close to airplanes. Very big spaceships and rockets were in different houses. There were kinds of cool things on show. You could join in many experiments to explore(探索)interesting things on science. The National Air and Space Museum is an excellent place to visit.

    Oh, make sure you eat something before you come into the museum because the only place you can eat something here is a Boston Market fast food restaurant. The price of the food in it is very high. I had a Big Mac meal for almost $9!

    One day, the father of a very rich family took his son on a trip to the countryside. He wanted to show his son that how poor people there were. They spent a few days and nights on the farm. After they came back from their trip, the father asked his son, "How did you like our trip?"

    "It was great, Dad."

    "Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.

    "Oh yeah," said the son.

    "So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.

    "I see that we have one dog and they have four. We have beautiful lights in our garden, and they have the stars at night. We have a small piece of land to live on, and they have fields that have no ends. We have servants(仆人) who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, and they grow theirs. We have fences to protect us, and they have friends to protect them."

    "Thanks, Dad, for showing me how poor we are," said the son. The boy's father didn't know what to say then.
